He drove the Jaguar to the underground parking of one of the tallest buildings in the area. She's passed this building before, she may have also had one client who worked here, she really can't remember. She wasn't going to be too impressed about it. After all, the info she got about this client was that he's a real big shot anyway. This was kind of expected.

She didn't expect, however, that the security guard will be very friendly with him. Even high-fiving him as he swiped his identification card when they went past the parking sensors.

Like he's always done these late-night businesses at his office.

"Sir! OT again?"

"You know it."

She saw how the guard was trying hard not to take a look inside the car, to check on who he was with. She just looked straight ahead.

He swiftly parked the car two levels below, at a private slot, with only just another car parked at the left side of the elevator doors leading to the upper floors. She noticed it had the same plate as the Jaguar, so she assumed it was also his. He stepped out and moved to her door, opening it and offering his hand for her to get out. She waited for him to lock the doors before they proceeded to the elevator.

"I'm surprised you didn't bring anything else with you. But I suppose you have everything you need with you anyway. Amazing how smaller things get, the bigger impact it makes, right?"

She was startled with his question. Was he expecting her to bring what she hesitated on bringing earlier? Her agent told her that the client could be very experimental, but she thought against it. Besides, this night may not need any of those. She can be very improvisational, after all.

Perhaps, if they are both happy after, they may have to agree on taking it up another notch.

"I can work with whatever you have available. You don't mind, do you?"

It was his turn to be surprised with her answer. He was getting more and more curious with what she has to offer.

*Ting!

The elevator doors opened and he led her in. He pressed '24' and as they felt the lift moving higher, he could feel the tension building up inside him. He's been feeling it since he laid eyes on her, and that short ride from the restaurant to his office heightened a lot of his senses. He was very much aware of how smooth her legs were, how soft her hands were as they touched when he shifted gears, and how she seemed to stiffen a bit when he put on her seatbelt. Her perfume was intoxicating, and he felt like he would willingly drown in it.

Both of them, as if avoiding any more conversation, just looked at the floor numbers as they steadily went up.

10...13...16...

*Ting!

The doors opened and they looked on as they saw one of the utility men waiting to get on the elevator, surprised that there were people inside.

"Ay! Sir, I'm sorry. I'll just get on the next one."

"Nonsense, Jeffrey. Get in."

The utility guy got in, smiling and bowing as he took a corner of the space inside the lift.

"It's past eight in the evening Jeffrey, why are you still here?"

"I was on my way out, Sir, but I think I left my lunchbox at the 20th floor pantry."

"Ah. You wouldn't want Denise to complain about how you leave her tupperwares all the time."

"Yes, Sir. She will always forget where she put her glasses but never her tupperwares."

He laughed with Jeffrey, a hearty laugh that she found very masculine yet warm and endearing. She smiled as she listened to how the two men kept at the light banter.

Jeffrey looked back at both of them, bowing once again.

"Goodnight Jeffrey. Tell Denise that I wouldn't mind a sample of her home-baked banana bread again."

"Will do, Sir. Have a nice night, Mam!"

She nodded at him and the elevator doors closed again.

"You seem to know your staff pretty well."

"It doesn't take much to be friendly with people. Especially if they are pretty much the ones you see everyday. Wouldn't it be a lot easier for this world if we all just got along?"

"That's true. But then that would mean a lot of the world's realities will break down, like the industry of war, and the business of resource-grabbing. Won't that cause more chaos, having everyone agree to everything?"

He pondered at what she said, wanting to argue immediately but what she said, once again, challenged his own beliefs.

"Interesting. Why do you say that?"

She looked at him, faced him and took a step closer before she spoke.

"If everyone is living in agreement with everyone, where's the balance of right and wrong? Of good and evil? Where's the triumph of winning if you've already won?

It took him a great amount of restrain to not draw her close to him, to wrap his arms around her and just kiss her. He had to remind himself that they were there for business. Nothing more. Even if he could already tell that she was feeling the same amount of intensity as he was. He had to do the right thing, he had to be respectful, or else they may lose this venture.

He held the elevator doors open for her to step out, glad that they were finally at his office.

She smirked as she walked past him, but she was also confused. Elevators weren't her thing, what with the cameras and all. But should he have initiated anything, she would have agreed to whatever happens.

For sure, both of them knew that it was going to be a long night.
