The drive didn't take too long.

I was staring out of the window, watching the few cars on the highway rush past us. Jemma's curly head lay in my lap as I stared at the blurr of trees and the grey road beneath me. After a while I got dizzy and started stroking Jemma's hair tenderly.

Officer Eveland took the exit and we drove on a bumpy road. There was grass and fields everywhere and I loved it. I hadn't been on the country side in ages and I had always loved the smell of rain and earth.

We drove up and down a few hills, until finally I could see a small town.

Officer Eveland stopped the car infront of a huge, ancient-looking building. It had a stone lion statue infront of it, and a small stoney pathway led to the doorstep.

Officer Eveland got out of the ford and opened the car door for Jemma, who tierdly rubbed her eyes and squinted at the building. "It looks like in Scooby Doo!"

He smiled at her and offered her his hand. When she took it, he glanced back into the car, where I sat rooted to the spot. "You coming?"

All I could do was swallow and get out of the car.
