Mother knows best - Stefan

You have children and he meets them for the first time (sorry I pre-named them)

Ever since Noah and Blair were born, your life has changed. Your only focus was raising them. You and your ex fiancé Jamie had decided to break of your engagement because you felt you were drifting apart and you didn't love each other in that way any more but you loved each other as friends, so you decided to break of your engagement. What you didn't realise is that you were pregnant with twins. Once you found out you were pregnant you phoned Jamie and told him the news and he was said he wants to be an involved father as much as you like which you of course agreed to.

During your pregnancy you decided to become roommates so it would be difficult for when the babies arrive and ever since you have been great. Once your beautiful baby boy and girl arrived you were both extremely happy. But you have also had no time for you time. You haven't been trying to meet new people or even go on dates, Jamie has started seeing someone who you thought was lovely.

Two weeks ago
"Y/n, I'll watch them tonight you go out, have a night to yourself you deserve a break! You gave birth 6 months ago Jamie said and you shook your head
"Go meet someone, you deserve it more than anyone, please" he says and you shrug and shake your head
"No, I will just be worrying the whole time I'm fine" he shook his head and started pushing you out the room
"Nope you are going, here I packed you hand bag now go?" He pushes you out the door and closes it. You start to laugh out if disbelief, but you turn around and walk into the centre and you notice a bar so you decide to walk inside and you see it is quite busy but not to crowded. There is a nice atmosphere so you walk towards the bar and sit on one of the stools order yourself a glass of wine and just soak up the peace and quiet. As you are looking around you notice a guys with light brown superhero hair, toned just sitting alone on his phone. He looks up and looks around and he locks eyes with you, smiles then draws his attentions back to his phone. You look back at your wine glass and remember what Jamie said. You took a deep breath and shake your head because you couldn't believe you were doing it. So you stood up with your glass and headed towards him and you went all the way to the table
"Do you mind if I sit here?" You say and he smiles and gestures for you to sit down
"I'm y/n" you say and hold out your hand
"Stefan" he says taking it, you guys hold ha do for a while not wanting to let go. But when you do you summed up all the courage
"I don't normally do this and I haven't done this in a while but would you want to have dinner sometime?" You say and he laughs
"I would love to, How about right now?" He says and he stands up and holds his arm out for you. You look at him not believing what's happening and you stand up and take his arm.
"Lead the way".

That night was the most fun you have had in a long time, you were smiling constantly and continued smiling when you got home. You and Stefan went on three more dates within two week because you guys are like two peas in a pod. You guys get on so well and he is such a gentlemen.

Present day (morning)

You had arranged for Stefan to come over for lunch and you were going to cook,what you also wanted was for him to meet your children. You have told Stefan yet because you didn't know how to bring it up and you didn't know where it was going but you trusted Stefan from the get go and knew you were in it for the long run.
"So, can you keep Noah and Blair upstairs and quiet and if/when he is ready I will bring him up or I will come and help you to bring them down" he nods and puts his arms on your shoulders because you continue to ramble on
"Calm down it is all taken care off, and from what you have told it he will be fine" he says
"I will also need to explain our whole situation" you say putting your head on his chest and he hugs you
"Don't worry I will reassure him we are not fucking and I'm a side piece" you shove him and you both start laughing

Present day (the showdown)
You are currently in the twins room playing with them and you hear the doorbell ring and you give Jamie and nod and you run down the stairs with him closing to door after you. You open the door and Stefan is holding a bottle of wine and a bouquet of roses
"Hey" he says and he kisses your check and you let him in, you take the flowers
"My favourite" you say
"You like roses?" He says and you laugh
"I meant the wine" and he laughs as you enter the kitchen. You put the bottle in the island, then you open your drawer and take out scissors and start to prepare the flowers
"Hey? Is this yours?" He says and you look up and notice he has picked up Blair's pony and you set down the scissors and take a deep breath.
"Not technically, um look I've been meaning to tell you something" you say and you start fiddling with the flowers not looking at him but then his hands on yours
"You can tell me, nothing you can tell me will scare me away" he says smiling down and you, you look him in the eyes and you know he means it.
"Ok, you know how I told i was engaged before I met you?" He nods "Well me and Jamie ended in good terms but it was after that I found out I was pregnant. I told him and he wanted to be involved and he helped me all through the pregnancy and now we have twins. A boy and a girl. Jamie actually lives here with me so it doesn't confuse and  cause trauma for the babies. He is in a serious relationship and we are just friends. I know this is a lot but they are upstairs if you want to meet them?" You say and he smiles
"I would love to" he says
"Ok yay! That makes me so happy, I'll bring them down" you say and you give him a quick kiss in the lips.

You run upstairs into the kids room and you see Jamie playing with them
"Who's ready to meet a new friend?" You say in a baby voice and you pick up Noah, he makes a cute baby
"Excited hunny?" And he giggles. Jamie picks up Blair and you guys go down stairs.

Once you reach the kitchen Stefan stands up and he sees the baby in your arm
"This is Noah" you say as he looks at Stefan curiosity but the reaches out a hand towards him
"Hi little guy" he says giving him a finger to hold
"This is his sister Blair" Jamie says as she giggle and Stefan waves at her sticking his tongue out.

A few hours later Jamie had to go out but sent you a text a while later saying
"I'll be back late. Also he's a keeper 😉"

So Stefan helped you set the children down for the night, now you are sitting in your lounge with a glass of wine
"Thank you, for being so understanding about everything" you say snuggling into him and he puts an arm around your shoulders
"They really like you by the way. They don't just let anytime feed them trust me" and he laughs "thank you again for being so-'
"Stop thanking me! wouldn't I be understanding" He says kissing your temple. And you shrug "listen" he says and he takes both your hands
"Y/n, I am in no place to judge anyone, having kids is an amazing thing and it makes me like you even more. I can't tell just from these few hours that you are going to be the best mother. Please know that I would never look at you differently or treat you any differently now I know you have two wonderful children. I really like you Y/n. My feelings for you are so strong, way stronger than they should be for two weeks in" he pauses as you smile gratefully and you put a hand in his cheek rubbing in slightly.
"Look, I am it for the long haul if you are?" He says and you smile lean in and kiss him with so much passion and admiration. You pull away both of smiling
"Does that answer your question?" You say and he nods leaning in again muttering
"Yes"
