Mamma mia - Damon

You and Damon have had arguments in the past over you wanting children and him not wanting any.

I was sitting in the living room of me and Damon's house trying to plan out the meal for tomorrow nights. We are having the gang over for our annual chill night in, this time It's is me and Damon's turn to cook and arrange the entertainment for the evening. Once I had settled for what I was going to cook I checked the kitchen for the ingredients I had then wrote a list of what I needed to get. Then I wrote a note to Damon saying that I was out getting the food.

He was currently out with Ric most likely at the bar blowing of some steam. We had got into another argument right before he left. Throughout our whole relationship I have always made it prevalent that I want children, whenever the subject came up Damon would either just smile or dodge the subject, at some points he would get excited at the thought. When we got engaged I started talking about it more and Damon would say he is nit ready. Now we have been engaged for just over a year and before he left he said he didn't want kids.

Before I went to the store I texted the girls and asked if we could meet quickly cause I needed their opinion of something. Elena was with Stefan on a date so I didn't want to disrupt that Caroline and Bonnie were out clothes shopping so we arranged to meet in a cafe. I walked in and they were in a booth and had ordered for me, we hugged and I sat down
"So what's up, what did you want to talk to us about?" Bonnie said and I took a sip off my drink
"Well you guys have know I have always wanted to be a mother. I used to talk about how I can't wait to be older so I can be a mum" I say and they nod
"Wait! Are you pregnant?" Care says grabbing my hands and I shake my head
"No no I wish, um Well me and Damon have had arguments and little spats over the years about it and I thought it was what he wanted as well until this morning when he tells me he doesn't want children" I say and they look at each other not knowing what to say.
"Is this the first time he had said this?" Bonnie asks and I nod
"I mean before this he said that he wasn't ready anytime soon but he never said he never wants them" I say as I take another drink. Bonnie takes my hand
"As much as Damon is an asshole and we all hate him most of the time. We all know he can say stuff in the moment he doesn't mean. Literally take our whole friendship" she says and we all laugh "I am sure he was just riled up in the moment but what you two need to do is have a sit down conversation about this" she says and I nod
"If he will, he's so fucking stubborn" I say and they both nod
"But so are you, so make sure he listenings to you then you listen to his side of the story and don't leave the conversation in an argument or unresolved" Care says and I nod
"What would I do without you guys?" I say pulling them both in for a hug
"Love you" Care says. After that we just talked about other things and they even helped me buy my groceries. Then Caroline went back to go pick up her daughters, Bonnie went back to her and Enzos.

Once I got home, I put everything away and got into comfortable clothes and started cleaning the whole house. During this Elena called to ask what was the matter and I explained and she gave me similar advice that the others told me and that her and Stefan would come early tomorrow so we could talk. I was preparing the guest rooms because Bonnie, Enzo, Care Ric and the twins were staying the night after because they live further away.

I started cleaning around 1:00pm and now it's around 8:30pm, I just finished and Damon was not home. I checked my phone and I have no text messages or phone calls so I decided to cook a quick stir fry and he could have some when he got home. It was around 9:15pm now and I was sitting on the lounge sofa wrapped in a blanket on my laptop catching up on work emails when I heard the door open and close. I looked at the door to the lounge and I saw Damon appear
"Hey stranger" I say as I turn back to my laptop screen
"Sorry hun we lost track of time, I should've texted" he says sitting next to me
"It's ok, did you have fun?" I say finishing the last email then closing the laptop.
"Yeah, I think he also needed a break so it was nice seeing him" Damon says, then there was a silence.
"Could we have a talk about this morning?" I say and I see his face change
"I don't think we should tonight because I am worried I am going to say something I don't mean" he says and I turn away trying not to scoff.
"Ok Damon" I say standing up "I'm going to bed" I say kissing him then heading upstairs.
