The Day Before

( the first part of this chapter is Danie telling the twins about the Marauders)

It was early in the morning. Everyone was having breakfast in the Great Hall when the daily owls arrived. An Barn owl had dropped a letter infront of Danie. It was on an old looking piece of parchment. Finally she had gotten a letter form Lupin. She couldn't help but smile. She opened it quickly with excitement.

Dear Danielle
It does sound like you are having a interesting time at Hogwarts. Sorry for not writing. I have been preoccupied with work and the order. I hope you can forgive me. Padfoot has been staying with Tonks and I for the past few months and I've heard a great deal about his theories on Karkaroff. He's even thrown Snapped name in there a few times. It's taken everything I have to stop him from storming the Castel like a mad man. In my personal opinion I don't believe that karkaroff is the person who placed hares name in the goblet of fire. Though I do not have any ideas on who did I know both you and Harry are safe as long as Moody and Dumbledore are there so please don't worry my dear. As for your group of Marauders I hope you aren't causing too much trouble, I doubt you are you were never the type. Send Harry my luck.

Danie smiled at the letter and held it to her heart. This made her feel a lot better. Lupin was the one who raised her. It was tough at times given lupins condition but the always made it through together. He was her family. She looked up to see a very shocked Fred and George. " Padfoot...." " Moony ". " Marauders!" They said the last part in unison. " As in " " The Marauders map". Danie was confused by their odd behavior. She nodded her head yes. " How do you know the Marauders?!" Fred asked in a whisper yell. " Well I am related you one" the twins jaws dropped. " I think I'm in love" George said in a daze. " Oh please. Close your mouths, did Harry not tell you any of this?" " Wait Harry knew?!". " That Git!" She just sighed and stood up. " Common I'll explain on our way to class. " The twins got up and walked with her to charms. " I suppose I'll start with the names, Moony is Remus Lupin. Padfoot is Sirius Black. Prongs is James Potter and WormTail is Peter Pettigrew. " Danie said Peter's name as if she had just eaten something horrible. " Wait Sirius as in" " the mass murder ?" She sat down in her desk annoyed by their comment. " He didn't Kill anyone! He was framed by Peter. That's a nother story" the twins sat on either side of her. " Anyhow the four of them were the pranking Kings of their time at Hogwarts and eventually made the Marauders map " the twins were astounded. " I can't believe Harry never told us any of this that Git" " I can't believe that Danie is related to them!" " I'm right here you know" she leaned back in her chair as class began. She found herself loosing herself in her work and own throughts. Drowning out what others were saying.The second task was coming up and Harry had somewhat figure out what he had to do. He took the egg into the baths the other night and it sang a song.

He had to find something that was stolen. Underwater and he had an hour to find it or it would be gone forever. What would they take? Harry's Invisible cloak perhaps. Danie supposed Harry would be disappointed if he couldn't get it back but he would survive. She supposed it could be worse. He would just have to handle the creatures that lived on the lake.

2 days left until Harry's next task. He wasn't eating very much and he looked quite nervous. Classes had ended for the day, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Danie were all headed to the library to try and figure out a way for Harry to breath underwater. Hermione already had a great numbers of books out and was making her way through them. Several hours had passed and no luck.
" I reckon it can't be done" Ron said. " There's nothing, Nothing! Closest was that thing to dry up puddles and ponds. That Dought charm is no where near powerful enough to drain the lake. " Ron sounded hopeless. " There has to be something" Hermione scared the words of her book carefully. " They wouldn't make an undoable task. " Danie Was flipping through the pages of her own book. " Well they have" said Ron. " Harry just go down to the lake tomorrow, stick your head in, yell at the merpeople to give back whatever the nicked and see if they chuck it out. Best you can do mate". " I don't think that will work Ron" Danie closed her book and opened a new one. " There has to be a way! Danie you are a six year you have to know something" Hermione sounded determined. " There is but nothing Harry can learn over night. If we had known about the task a mouth ago" " know what I should have done" Harry chimed in. " I should have learnt to become an Animagus like Sirius" " yeah you could've turned into a goldfish" Said Ron. " Or a frog" Harry added. " It takes years to become an Animagus, plus you have to register with the ministry". " I don't think he was being serious Hermione" Danie closed her book in frustration. " Oh this is no use , who wants to make their nose hair into a ringlets?" Hermione cried. " I wouldn't mind" a voice said. It belonged to a one Fred Weasley. Fred and George emerged from behind the book shelf " Be a talking point wouldn't it". " I think it suit you" Danie said smugly " why thank you" Fred did a little bow. " What are you two doing here?" Asked Ron. " Looking for those two" George pointed at Hermione and Danie. "McGonagall wants us to take Danie and Hermione to her office" George explained. " Why?" Hermione asked suprised. "Dunno......she looked grim though " Fred said. Did she find out that they were helping Harry? No that can't be it or else Ron would be coming with them. " I suppose we'll see you back in the common room" Danie got up. " Take as many as the book to the common room and you can" Hermione instructed. Harry and Ron nodded. Hermione and Danie walked with Fred and George to McGonagalls office. Hermione walked inside. " I'll meet up with you before the second task starts" " see you than". " Bye Danie" she smiled and waved to them as they walked off. Danie walked into McGonagalls office. " Ah miss Potter. That's everything" she had a sorrow expression. In the room stood Dumbledore,Mr. Bagman, McGonagall . Along with Hermione, Cho Chang, Cedric's girlfriend and a little girl with long Blonde hair in a tight bun. Who Danie recognize as Fleur's younger sister. Danie made the connection. " You can't be serious" Danie turned to the Teachers and Bagman. " What's wrong Danie?" Asked Hermione. " we've taken what you'll sorely miss, An hour long you'll have to look, And to recover what we took But past an hour to prospects black too late its gone, it won't come back. " Danie quoted the last part of the golden egg clue. The others seem to have caught on. " This has to be illegal" Danie tried to keep a calm tone as to not frighten the others. " I can assure that you will all be safe from the creatures in the lake and kill be able to breath just fine" Bagman tried to comfort a clearly ticked Danie. " This isn't ideal but it's necessary for the task" McGonagall looked like she didn't believe what she was saying. " All three of us will be placing protective charms on you all. It will be like falling asleep." Dumbledore explained. Danie looked back at the younger girls then to the adults " I don't agree with this but I have faith in the Champions" Danie said coldly." I'll go first". " Excellent , well done Miss Potter" Bagman clapped his hands together. The three adults pointed their wands at her. She closed her eyes and with a warm feeling wash over her body everything even numb.
