Jaehyun and I were scanning from isle to isle in our favorite book shop. We've been pacing the area for a while now since we're really looking for that particular book. It was released a year ago and thousands of copies were sold on the day of its release. We've only known about it these days since it's only now we've got rid of our prejudices towards romance and action. We strongly believed these two weren't much of a good pair at all! If you want action, just stick to it! If you want romance, then write a book about romance and nothing else.

"Remind me why we want to read it again?" Jaehyun scoffed, pulling out hard-bound books from their shelves. I rolled my eyes and gritted my teeth behind my lips. "Because its ratings were extremely high!"

"—But it's romance and action?! Is it even really worth it?" He scowled in a very exasperated voice. "Let's try something new, at least. We've been reading sci-fi and dystopian books for like 3 years already."

Jaehyun chuckled all of a sudden. The sides of his eyes wrinkled and his deep dimples showed. I rose a brow as an indication of perplexity. He cleared his throat and once more giggled whilst holding on a book.

"What's funny?" I queried, baffled. "Nothing. . ." He held back his laughter.

I knitted my brows and pouted.

"Seriously? What is it? Is there something in my face?" I insisted, my shoulders dropped in defeat. "I. . . I just remember the first time we met. It was exactly this spot."

Jaehyun's eyes shone nostalgia as a realization popped in my mind. He swallowed his lips as he tried to muffle his laugh at my dumbfounded face. "You and I were fighting over that one book."

A smile of relief was painted on my face as a memory replayed in my mind. I continued searching in the pile of books laid on the floor. I squat my bottom down and skimmed through the covers. "What book was it again?" I asked.

Jaehyun bit his lower lip and scratched the side of his forehead.

"I think it was Kay Hooper's—"

"Final Shadows." We said in unison.

And we both chortled.

"I found it!" I yelped. I hurriedly grabbed two copies of it and handed one to Jaehyun, whose face brightened up.

"Lies and Roses" He mouthed the words with a little bit of disappointment in the expression of his face. "It's going to be worth it. What's wrong with romance mixed with action anyway?" I reassuringly patted Jaehyun's back to console him. "What's wrong, you ask? Everything."

I pushed Jaehyun's back with both of my hands, with the book on my left and he refused to move forward. "Let me think about it first—I don't think I will read this trash—" Jaehyun whined as we were nearing the counter.
