Chapter 68: I can help you

It was already a routine for Lu Yifeng to drop Little Melon to school and drop Xia Meilin to her studio before heading off to his work.

The relationship between him and Xia Meilin was becoming steady and if it goes on, he knew that she would eventually fall for him in no time.

"See you later." Xia Meilin waved at him before she closed the car's door. She watched his car disappear and made sure that it wasn't coming back before she went to hail a taxi.

"Beijing airport."

Since she didn't want to be noticed by anyone, she wore a mask and some sunglasses.

Xia Meilin waited for almost thirty minutes before she finally saw Feng Ning walking out with his assistant.

He still looked so stunning and manly as ever. The kind look on his face and the smile on his lips were something she always loved since they were kids.

"Feng Ning-ge ge!" She waved her hand at him to get his attention.

When Feng Ning saw her wave, he ended up smiling. That woman who is wearing a mask must be Xia Meilin, right?

He turned to his assistant, "Drop my things to my place. I will arrive there in the afternoon."

"Yes, sir."

After ordering his assistant, Feng Ning approached Xia Meilin with a smile. He gave her a hug, "I almost didn't recognize you."

Xia Meilin giggled as she hugged him back. He was the only man that she didn't mind hugging ever since she was young. During their childhood days, they would always hug whenever they see each other. "That's actually the purpose of the mask and the glasses, right?"

He pulled away and patted her head. "I know that we have seen each other last month but it really feels like I didn't see you for so long. How are you?"

"I'm fine, fine. It's almost time for lunch, you must be hungry. Let's go?"

He held her hand and smiled, "I will give you the honor to choose the restaurant."

She looked at their hands together, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks but that wasn't seen because of her mask. "Then let's go eat my favorite Peking duck! Your treat."

He laughed lightly, "It's always going to be my treat."

"Ah huh. It's always going to be your treat."

Lu Yifeng was in his office, reading a file. While he was doing so, a 'ding' was heard from his phone. It was a message from an unknown number. In the message, there were two photos attached.

In the photo, Feng Ning was hugging a masked woman in front of the airport. On the other one, they were inside a restaurant.

Lu Yifeng's eyes darkened and the temperature inside the office became low when he saw the photos.

Even if the woman was wearing a mask and had sunglasses on, he was still able to recognize her because of her clothes. The woman was wearing the same clothes Xia Meilin was wearing that day.

She still went to see him? He stood up and walked out of his office. "Su Lei, prepare the car."

"Yes, sir." Seeing how cold and deadly his boss' face was, Su Lei was able to tell that something bad happened. His boss was definitely in a bad mood since he looked like he was about to kill someone!

Feng Ning and Xia Meilin were sitting on the table that was on the corner of the restaurant, beside the glass window. They were currently waiting for their orders.

"You can take off your mask and glasses now." Feng Ning chuckled, "Are you going to eat that way?"

"Of course not." She looked around, making sure that there were no paparazzi around before she took off her mask and glasses. "Anyway, you'll be starting your work here, right? Will you stay here for good?"

"Yes, I will stay here for good so we can make up for the time we missed." He held her hand but when he did, he finally realized the ring on her finger. The smile on his face became stiff. "What's this?"

She followed his gaze and when she saw him looking at her hand, she quickly retracted her hand away from his hold. "I'm... married."

This time, the smile on his face was totally erased when he heard her words. "You're... married?"

Xia Meilin lowered her head. She touched the ring around her finger and gently stroked it. "Yes. I married Xiao Gua's father."

Feng Ning frowned, "So... he's really alive?"

"Yes. We were... not in good terms back then. I never expected that I will be able to get to marry him as well... but yeah, we're together." Xia Meilin felt a pain in her chest while she was saying this. She has no reason to lie to him, besides, even if she tried to hide it, Feng Ning would be able to learn about this because her relationship with Lu Yifeng wasn't a secret from everyone.

His fists were clenched tight after hearing her words. It was as if a bucket of cold water was dump on him. "I love you, Xiao Mei. You know this. I have loved you since we were little. I wasn't able to do anything when my parents decided to leave this country. Didn't we make a promise to each other? I will return to you and you will wait for me, so... why? How can you do this to me?"

Tears started forming on the side of her eyes. "Do you think I chose this? I waited for you all my life, Ning-ge." She looked at him with her tearful gaze. "I never loved anyone except you-

"Then what is this?!" Feng Ning raised his voice in anger.

There were only a few costumers in that place at that time. When Feng Ning raised his voice, they couldn't help but give him a glance.

Feng Ning's lips were stretched into a thin line as he tried to contain his emotions. He breathed in so deeply before giving out a long exhale to calm himself down. "Tell me, Meilin. Do you still love me?"

Her lips quivered as she tried her best to stop her tears from falling. "I do... I still love you, gege."

His eyes softened at that. She still loved him, that's all that mattered to him. "I don't care if you're married, Xiao Mei." He reached out his hand and wipes the tears that formed on the side of her eyes. "I don't care if you have a child. We both love each other, we can still think things through, we can still be together. I can help you divorce him."
