Chapter 71: I will not cheat on you

Xia Meilin turned to Lu Yifeng and smiled. Even if he was mad at her, he was still protecting her and that warmed her heart.

Lu Yifeng walked and sat on his swivel chair. He took the file that he stopped reading earlier. He may look like he was busy reading the file in his hand but that wasn't the case. He couldn't help but think about the words that she said earlier while she was making her position known to Bai Xiu Ying.

'My husband' She said those words a couple of times that day and it delighted him. The side of his lips slightly curled up when he thought of those. Was she finally accepting him as her husband?

Xia Meilin was staring at Lu Yifeng the whole time and when she saw the slightest reaction his face made, it made her wonder if he was finally in a good mood.

She stood up and walked towards him, "Yifeng, have you forgiven me?"

Xia Meilin waited for his response but he didn't even take a glance at her.

Did she think that he would easily forgive her even if she made him happy with her words? Lu Yifeng wanted to see how far she would go to make him notice her. He decided continue to drag this on until tonight.

There's only one way that Xia Meilin could think of that would make him forgive her.

She walked and hugged him from behind. "Mr. Lu, don't ignore your wife."

He was tempted by her soft hug but he wouldn't fall for it. He would not allow her to have the upper hand this time.

Xia Meilin pursed her lips when she didn't receive any reaction from him. She leaned back and clenched her fists, "Fine! If you don't want to forgive me then so be it! You're so petty! You're making my small mistake a big deal! It's not like I was cheating on you! Shouldn't you be glad that I didn't leave with Feng Ning? You're so annoying! How about Bai Xiu Ying? Why was she here? Is she always visiting you every day? Maybe it's actually you, the one cheating behind my back! Lu Yifeng, I swear if you're cheating -

She was cut off from her ranting when he suddenly turned his chair and pulled her wrist, making her sit on his lap. He placed his hand on her nape and crushed his lips on hers. His kiss was rough and hard... the kiss that was just like that night where he got angry at her.

Xia Meilin was surprised by that, she tried to push him away but her hands were losing its strength since it was not like she didn't want his kiss. She was starting to get drunk by his it and by the intoxicating smell around him. Xia Meilin couldn't do anything at that moment, his lips were so addicting. She could only give in and let him kiss her. She kissed him back and as she did, she felt like melting in his arms.

After a while, they finally pulled away. Xia Meilin was panting, her face was red and she felt dizzy because of the kiss they shared. She ended up burying her embarrassed face on his shoulder.

Lu Yifeng let go of her hands and turned his chair back to face the table while she was still sitting on his lap.

"Y-you're so cruel!" She finally turned to him after calming her heart that was racing wildly, "At least warn me first before you kiss me!"

"Will you let me kiss you if I warned you?"

She bit her lower lip as she lowered her head, her whole face was red, her ears as well. "Maybe..."

He wrapped his arms around her waist. "I will never cheat on you, Meilin. You're the only woman I will love in this life until the next."

Xia Meilin couldn't help but shrink into his arms as she tried to hide her blushing face from him. "I may not return your feelings right now since I don't love you... yet. But even if... that is the case, I will not cheat on you."

She was supposed to be sad and hurt after she ended things with Feng Ning, after all, feelings don't disappear so easily. But what surprised her was the pain she was expecting to have wasn't that painful for her. When Lu Yifeng arrived earlier, the tears that were about to be released from her eyes were stopped. Xia Meilin was supposed to cry her heart out but she was distracted by Lu Yifeng.

She realized that Lu Yifeng was affecting her so much. Her feelings, her emotions... She was so affected by his mere presence. "We're married, we're together because it's for the sake of our son... I accepted you because I want to do it for our son. I want to give him the family he wants..."

Lu Yifeng knew that well. He knew that she's doing all of this for their son. He knew that she was staying with him because of Little Melon. Even if he couldn't be the reason why on she would stay, as long as she was by his side, he didn't mind it. But even if he said that he didn't mind it, he could feel his chest tightening, he could feel his heart bleeding in pain.

"To be honest, you are not that hard to love." She faced him this time. She was hesitating if she should tell him the next words she has in mind, but since she wanted to be an honest person to him, she decided to say it. She placed her hand on his cheek, "I want to try to love you. Today, I have ended my love for Ning-ge... but it is also today that I will start a new one. I may not have the same feelings as you have for me right now but... one day, I will surely reciprocate it. Do you know what I have told Ning-ge? I told him that I value my family more than I do to him. Lu Yifeng, you are my husband and... I am starting to consider you a part of my family now."

Lu Yifeng never interrupted her once. He patiently listened to her. After listening to her words, he was moved by it. The pain that was inflicted in his heart by what she said was replaced by happiness. He has always waited for this day to come. A day where she would finally accept his feelings. "I'm going to kiss you now."

Xia Meilin blushed lightly at his warning. She turned away as she clenched his shirt tight. Even if they shared a few kisses already, she was still not used with it.

It was going to be her first relationship ever since she never dated anyone. Even if she was now married, she still has set restrictions between them. But now that everything was going well, she wanted to try to have a relationship with him. Hopefully, things would work out between them.

Lu Yifeng held her chin and made her face him. He inched closer, "Can I?"

She looked into his clear eyes. Her heart was starting to become so restless. "Okay." She closed her eyes and waited for him to kiss her.

He smiled at this, his wife was being adorable as always. He wanted to eat her up but he knew that it wasn't the right time to do it, it was still too early to take their relationship that far.

The kiss they shared was different from earlier. He was now kissing her in a gentle and loving way.
