Alayah's POV

Once I closed the door, I locked it and pressed my back against it as I thought about the night I just had. I facepalmed myself and as I was about to walk upstairs to my room when a light in the living room turned on. I turned to see my dad sitting in his recliner staring right back at me.

"Where were you?"

"Out with Lloyd," I lied.

He gave me a questioning look. "Why were you out with Lloyd?"

"He said he wanted to apologize for what he did."

"Why'd he bring you back so late? He knows I would've killed him for bringing you back at an hour like this."

"We lost track of time. I'm sorry daddy. It won't happen again, I promise."

"You had me worried sick Alayah. I try to be lenient with you but please follow the few rules I do give you."

He got up and hugged me and kissed my head. "I will I promise," I said.

I went to my room and closed my door, locking it. I stripped off the clothes I was wearing and took a nice, long, and hot shower. Once I got out, I put on my pajama's, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and started my homework. It was less homework and more so syllabuses. My phone buzzed.
