"What's going on Maverick?" she asked through gloss covered eyes. I huffed. I hated the position I was in. I would have to force her to take the oath of Omertà because that's the only way I'd be able to tell her everything.

I was supposed to be grounded for about 2 weeks but since my dad can't say no to me I was grounded for a week.
Maverick and I were hanging out a lot more than before. We'd talk and do homework and other shit. Typical high schooler things. I've gotten to know Maverick pretty well and him the same. We'd have these moments every now and then where I'd want to kiss him but thought against it. He was my friend after all. He wouldn't like me like that.
Anyways, I ended up telling him what happened the night he took me home from the gas station. He was angry, to say the least, but besides that, we were as thick as thieves.
I finally got to meet Chloe. She's actually a really sweet person and I completely misjudged her character. She's a good person and I only want the best for my dad.

It was now October and football season was afoot. When Maverick tried out for wide reiver, he actually beat out Giuseppe and this other guy for the position. He made it on the team and has been going to practice every Thursday. His first game is Friday against Laguna Creek and he has been begging me to go to the game.
I was currently in the back of Mrs. Logan's class taking notes on the topic we're learning when I heard Maverick whisper, "Alayah!"
I ignored him and continue t pay attention until he started throwing small pieces of paper. "What are you doing?"
"Come to the game," he said using his puppy dog eyes.
"Can't we do this later?!" I whisper yelled.
"No," he said. I sighed shaking my head.
"F-fine! Now let me focus!"
He gave me a cheeky grin before turning back around.

4 hours later
It was finally time for lunch and I was starving. I walked to my locker to get my books before heading to the cafeteria. I got my lunch and walked over to our table. Maverick and Toby were already there playing around. I sat down next to Maverick.
"Aww you guys are so cute," Rachel said sitting down next to Toby. They've gotten closer and not in a friendly manner. They were always flirting with each other but I don't know what was stopping them from going further.
"Ha you tried it," I said to Rachel, laughing while Maverick rolled his eyes.
