Alayah's POV

As soon as I got home, I called Leah and we talked about any and everything. I asked her, "So what do you think about Gryffin?" and her smile instantly vanished. I just rolled my eyes. "Oh come on Leah. You can't not like him because we're getting close," I said. Don and Leah always get defensive when I call somebody else best friend. They're so weird I swear.

"Yes I can and I will," she said crossing her arms like a child.

"Leah you should get to know him. We instantly clicked and you guys will too," I said trying to reason with her.

"Nuh-uh," she said and skewed her face upwards. "You can't make me."

"Bet," I said before making a group FaceTime and adding Don and Gryffin. They both picked up and both Leah and Don looked annoyed while Gryffin just rolled his eyes.

"Hey Alayah," Gryffin said.

"Sup Alayah," Don said.

"Why'd you add him to the call?" Leah said.

"Him has a name and it's Gryffin. If y'all got a problem with me I'd rather you say it to my face than behind my back," Gryffin said.

"Oh shut up you old queen!" Leah said and I gasped.

"Leah stop being rude!" I said sternly.

"He was in the wrong first," Don said siding with Leah.

"I don't have time for your bickering. I want you guys to be friends and you have no reason to hate each other! I want the people I care about to get along ok? Is that too much to ask for?" I asked them but no one said anything.

I sighed and said, "Well forgive me for wanting my best friend to get along with each other," and with that, I left the group FaceTime and turned my phone off. I sighed and laid back and looked at the ceiling. That's when I heard my phone buzz. I looked and saw it was a text from Maverick.

I was about to text him back when Gryffin started calling me. "Hey Gryffin," I said answering the phone. "Hey girl hey!" he said excitedly. Confused, I asked, "Are you ok? What happened after I left the group FaceTime?" He smiled and said, "When you left it was quiet at first but they apologized and we started talking and I told them about myself. They seemed to understand where I was coming from." I smiled and said, "I'm happy to hear that."

"I'm happy too. I'm glad they like me. Leah is really a go-getter attitude and Don's pretty laid back...and cute." I laughed at that and so did he.

"Eww no."

"You have to admit Don is pretty cute," he said crossing his arms.

"Ok he's handsome but I'm pretty sure he has a thing for Leah."

"Really?"

I nodded my head. "Definitely."

"You know who else is cute?"

"Who?"

He smirked and said, "Maverick." I just rolled my eyes. "He not even that cute," I said under my breath. Now you know that's a whole lie Alayah. "Alayah even a blind person could see how hot Maverick is." I pursed my lips and furrowed my eyebrows. "He aight at best," I said and Gryffin laughed. "I know you like him," he said. Now it was my turn to laugh. "That was real funny Gryffin. With jokes like that, you could be a comedian."

He rolled his eyes. "We both know you like him. You're just too stubborn to admit it."

"Shush before I chop your balls off."

"Bet."

"BET. JJ GET THE NUT CUTTERS," I yelled and I could saw Gryffin tense up.

"Ok ok I was just playin'," Gryffin said before Jacoby yelled, "Who's nuts I gotta cut?!" and Gryffin's eyes widened. I laughed and said, "I was just messin' with Gryffin."

"Tell him I said hi."

Hmm. That's weird. Jacoby doesn't like anyone. I turned to Gryffin and said, "Jacoby said hi," and I could see Gryffin blush before turning the camera. Sus... I didn't question him further about...whatever it was that just happened. "Am I going to your house or are you coming to my place?"

He immediately said, "Yours," and I knew as soon as he got he going to tell me what's going on with him and my brother. "What time are you going to come?! I'm bored," I said exaggerating my boredom. "At 3:30 ok?"

"Ok," I mumbled under my breath in a mocking tone. "Alayah stop being a brat," Gryffin said and I flipped him off. "I'll text you when I'm on my way," and with that, he hung up the phone. I huffed and grumbled under my breath, "weeny," and dramatically threw myself back on my bed.
