(y/n pov)

You looked over at him as the teacher yelled at him. He turned and caught your eyes. He winked at you as you slumped back in your chair blushing. Ethan Dolan had just winked at you. Your heart fluttered as you looked back at him.

Since kindergarten, you'd loved this guy. From sharing crayons, to graduating middle school, to your very first detention. Ethan was the one you loved. For over 11 years, this is the guy you'd wanted to marry. And you couldn't help but wonder if he ever felt the same way.

He always had girls around him. He was so popular. He was always talking to someone. But you weren't really like that. And that made your heart hurt. What if he doesn't like you because you're not popular? But either way, he's always winking at you, calling your name down the halls, ruffling your hair when you went over with Gray.

He always made it seem like he liked you too, but he never did anything about it.

"Y/N?" You snapped out of your thoughts as you pulled your math textbook out of your locker. You looked over at Grayson leaning against the locker next to yours. "I asked if you were still coming over?" You nodded.

"Is, uh, Ethan going to be there?" Grayson looked over past you, and you couldn't help but notice a hint of jealousy in his eye. "Gray?" He looked over at you.

"I don't maybe," He said as you nodded and locked your locker shut. "Ready to go?" You nodded and followed him out of the school.

"So, what's up with you, you seem a little off," You started as you walked to his car with him. "Everything okay?" He nodded and got into the driver's seat.

"No, I'm good," He said. He smiled at you as you got in. "Ethan's just a dick." He laughed as he started the car.

You looked down at your lap. He was never a dick to you. He was- you loved him. Maybe you were a lot closer to Grayson than you were with Ethan, but you still liked him. Every part of you wanted Ethan to be yours. Because if he just said the word, you were all ready to be his.

"No stop, give it back Gray!" You shouted as Grayson held up your favorite pen. You laughed before getting up to stand up on the couch, to grab it out of his hands. He stood up too, looming over you. You looked up at him and crossed your arms over your chest. "Grayson."

"Y/N?" He asked. You jumped up to grab the pen, but he was much taller than you. You rolled your eyes as he held it up. "Awe, are you too short?" He asked. You groaned.

"I'm not even that much shorter than you. You're only 5'11." You stated. He raised his eyebrows. "What?" You asked. He looked down at you and smiled, shaking his head.

"Only?" You rolled your eyes, mouthing 'cocky'. You laughed. He went on. "What are you, 5'1? You're so cute and tin-" You jumped up to grab your pen and caught him off guard.

Except instead of grabbing the pen, you fell into him, pushing him down on the couch. You close your eyes as your head hits Grayson's chest. You look up to see Grayson's eyes on yours. You see the way the flecks of color in his eyes were so much more noticeable up close, and how messy his floppy hair really was. You took in a breath as he stared at you.

"What the fuck?" You look up behind the couch, to see Ethan, his lacrosse bag thrown over his shoulder. You quickly look down to see Grayson still staring at you, a dazed look on his face. Your knees were on either side of his waist and your hands still on his chest. You quickly stood up, feeling a blush creep up on your face. Ethan raised his eyebrows.

"Hey Ethan," You said, your hand finding its way into your hair, trying to fix it. Grayson got off the couch and came and stood next to you. Ethan looked between the two of you before shaking his head.
