He was lying, to himself and to her

"Last day of highschool guys." Kai clapped his hands happily, joining you on the lunch table. Without hesitation, he grabbed some fries off of your plates and shovelled it in his mouth.

"Wheres Jihoon? I haven't spoken to him in a while." You asked, taking a bite of your food. Once you spoke, Miran and Kai both shared a glance and the table fell into silence.
Your eyes wearily flickered between your two friends and you sensed something was off.
"What?" You asked, sitting straighter and waiting for one of them to speak up, however they both shared another glance and never spoke up.
"Guys?"
Feeling dejected, you decided to take matters into my own hands.
"Fine I'll just text him then seeing as you guys are clearly hiding something from me."

You sat unmoving, eyes scanning the texts once, twice, a third time, until Kai took the phone off you and sighed at the results. Miran gave a hopeful look to which Kai shook his head at and handed her the phone.
"Why didn't you guys tell me?" You asked, feeling hurt and low. You gulped down the rising emotions that threatened to overtake.
"It's just- Jihoon isnt wro-" Kai stopped his sentence when Miran smacked him dead on the arm.
"Kai!" She exclaimed while he rubbed his arm in pain.
"What? What Miran?" He barked.
"Why should I have to walk around eggshells huh? I'm not going to play along with your games in pretending like nothing is wrong." He scoffed, slamming down the phone.

"Why are you all suddenly acting like this?" You pleaded, confused as hell.
Kai inhaled with his fist clenched.
"Areum, you really can't see a problem? None at all?...you must really not give a damn about us then. You shut us out! You don't tell us anything and what we're meant to be buddy buddy with you and act like we're fine with this? Well you're mistaken."

"Kai-"

"Let's just stop this now." He sighed, getting up and Miran shouting after him.

"M-miran?" You asked, hopeful. She looked back at you with guilt ridden eyes. She looked between you and Kai, biting her lip in conflict.
"I'll speak you to later Areum."

And with that she disappeared, along with your friendship.
Your chest increasingly got tighter with each step you took, the air felt restricted and your vision blurred.

Rage.
Pure rage voluted in your gut, shrieking with anxiety, seeping into your veins and distorting itself in your bloodstream. The rage convulsed into melancholy tears, without noticing it blooms onto my face and the feelings yoy could not express started to flow.

"You're so stupid." Your throat choked out as your whole body flushed with grave heat and panic.
"You're so stupid! You're dumb! You mess everything up, you worthle-"
Distracted by the endless tears that stung your eyes, you wasn't aware of the fact you were heading right towards the boy who also had tear stains decorating his cheeks.

Once we collided, you fell on impact and let out a small shriek.
"Fuck." Yoy hissed, rubbing your elbow.
Swallowing the shock that you had just experienced, you pushed myself off the floor into a kneeling position.
Another body layed on the floor, gripping their shoulder. If it wasn't for the fact his hat had flung itself elsewhere, you wouldn't have known it was him.

However once you saw him, there was a pang of relief- and that scared you.

"Mark?"
