At the same time as the little heroes moved towards the last challenge area, a certain group of mercenaries crossed the roads of another rural town of the Empire after resupplying.
They were easily recognized by the people of the town with cheers and respectful salutes, despite almost all of them being in full armor and wearing helmets
But it was no wonder, after all, their coat of arms was quite famous throughout the massive lands of the Rosar Empire.
The coat of arms of the Silver-Gold mercenary company.
And said coat of arms was engraved on their vehicles, thus, there was nothing they could do but answer to the people with their own salutes and so on.
"I insisted on him not giving the order to engrave our coat of arms on the vehicles but that old fox said, 'no coat of arms, no vehicles.' He really acts like a child sometimes..."
Said the one who was taking point on their formation, a woman due to the voice that came out of the helmet. She also put the side of her closed hand right where the base of her nose was supposed to be. Making it seem as if the person she was referring to was headache, even if her helmet was in the way.
Her armor could be said to be a heavy one, with a silver and gold finish that was not as flashy as one might think.
That being thanks to the battles it has already gone through.
"...but still, I can't deny the performance."
"Indeed, leader. We have a covered a good distance from the capital, if we keep up at this speed, we will be able to arrive to our destination in a few days at best."
Said one of the subordinates that followed her closely, their voice sounded androgynous and their armor looked as if it was made of wood and leaves.
And they were right, they already had covered a good deal of distance since their departure from the imperial capital a week and a half ago. They could already see the great mountain pass far in the horizon.
"Are we there yet?"
Asked another one of her subordinates, one that did not have a full helmet, showing his canine muzzle. His armor also looked lighter compared to his teammates', made from various hardened and magically treated leathers and cloths.
"*cough*Are those ears just your fetissh? Didn't you hear our viceee leader...? There are still a few days of distanccce to cover."
Answered one of his comrades, a sickly sounding woman, her dark purple colored armor coupled with her dry gray hair that came out from the top of her helmet and her scrawny complexion, made her look as an eerie kind of knight. Like one right out of some scary story told to innocent recruits on their first night of training.
"Rrrr...I am losing my patience..."
He said that as he growled, willfully ignoring his comrade's remarks, while also moving out of the way of a horse drawn carriage with ease.
Their specialized magical vehicles gave them quite the maneuverability and a good enough speed for their needs, which involved traveling cross country every so often.
They were prototypes developed by Sentinel Garcés' personal engineering division, in which they took a traditional horse drawn vehicle of the Empire, the combat chariot, modified it, enchanted it and turned into a mana powered vehicle.
Much alike the mana powered carriages that became popular a few years ago.
The result was a three wheeled vehicle that only had space for its driver, but that also meant that it could move in ways a magical carriage could not.
