Chapter 48: A sure-fire way to get hungry is to beat monsters!

After having checked in on Sylvie we are back on watching and narrating about the maids.

By the way, Sylvie's axe is going to be alright, I already sent it back to Roxxy for repair or... restoration, meanwhile she sent me a replacement via Nerinne Express.

And with no extra fees, fufu~~.

Now, Erica, Josie, Maevis, Sam, Max, Kara and Lyra are cleaning up the horde quite nicely. Sam, Erica and Josie are using AoE spells to really 'clean' the area while the rest take care of stragglers and even some that are trying to escape.

At first, they were being cautious given the numbers of the monsters and the many species they hadn't faced before, but now that is not the case anymore.

And I call that a good exp farming session, with quite the literal addition to their experience.

But they are too overpowered, you say? That doesn't bar them from learning, you know? If one monster seemed more resistant to their approach, they tried another one with the next monster and so on. Thus, reducing their time to kill for those species and so on.

That is important, because monsters share some of those characteristics even in their strongest forms. And knowing those characteristics beforehand will surely come in handy if they ever have to face monsters that are on their level.

Anyway...back to Gail.

"[BURURURU]!"

It seems the slime realized what Gail was trying to do and quickly used a combo of two skills, one that it activated while we were observing the other maids and that is separating itself into many floating droplet size slimes.

Its objective? To surround and cage Gail in, leaving her no escape route for what is to come, which is the skill it just activated. That is, turning the droplets into needles and shooting them all at the same time.

"M-m."

But Gail, instead of moving like crazy, is standing still at the center of soon to be needle cage with her eyes closed. The moment she gesticulates that negative expression, she also shakes her head and that is when two needles fly past her.

She dodged them by shaking her head in the 'no' motion.

"BURURURURU!!"

And that seemed to set off the Big Black Slime because it just started shooting the whole lot of needles, worst of all, the needles share the same qualities as it and they are bouncing off the ground once they reached it and back at Gail.

Meanwhile, the core of the monster is hovering over and around the cage, protected by a layer of slime that it did not turn into needles. It is about the size of a truck wheel.

But! Gail is dodging every single one, without moving from where she stands, and she still manages to look cute and graceful while doing it. Heck, it looks as if she is dancing while still being in the same place! It's great!

"BURUBURUBURU!!"

The core-slime seems quite enraged by it all and stops hovering over the cage to once again go at ground level and extend its tendrils to all the needles.

I see...it intends to counter Gail's dodging with threads connecting two or more needles, threads that would act as saws and cut Gail to pieces.

"Too slow. Too uncute."
