After an hour-long session of technical questions, anecdotes, and reactions from everyone, a maid's thirst for knowledge about the blessed weapons of old that they were warned about was at last satisfied. With that the call ended, but not before they received the good wishes of everyone.
Wishes for a mission accomplished.
Wishes for everyone to have a safe return.
And more.
Of course, both maids on the 'call' wished the same for their comrades in the dungeon. Although, one in her own particular way and the other not missing a beat and scolding her once more.
Thus, the strange sight of a feast inside a dungeon came to a close and after all was cleaned and left ready for the morning to come, darkness and silence began to reign over the Absurd's camp.
This time no bonfire remained lit, not even a small one for the one who would keep watch, for none would do so this time. Such thing would certainly be a mistake that would doom many groups to a certain death at the hands of the monsters that lurked in the shadows.
Even more, doing so on purpose could be thought as absurd, but such things were her usual deeds after all. She had ordered every single one of her comrades to rest fully and without worry about monsters nor for keeping watch. When asked why she only answered with a simple sentence.
"I have a feeling that tomorrow you all shall need the energy."
'Even me...'
Many things prompted such words and thought.
First, her knowledge of the beings that lied behind the door at the deepest part of the floor they found themselves in, mainly, a being that had power over death, just as her comrades had been able to discern via the cold and dead feel that permeated the area.
Second, the very present chance of something far worse waiting at the floor after the one they were in, the tenth floor. Just as it had happened with the fifth floor, a 'boss' like the Behemoth of Symphony.
Third and last, the Absurd's instinct powered by the very knowledge of what twisted her mind coupled with her usual queries to said instinct for a clearer result. One of those queries being if the Emissary would try something once more, or worse, the Evil God. It answered with nothing fully concrete but neither with nothing itself. Instead it gave her a certain nudge, one heavy enough to say those words and hope for her rough talking friend.
Hoping that her friend would be able to pass the trial that waited for her. No, not just hope, but trust too.
Still, that answer was enough for her comrades to not question her any further.
All as she summoned her holy lance and erected a powerful barrier around the whole camp with it, making it clear to everyone that nothing would be able to go inside of it, let alone touch it, for the barrier would surely disintegrate any monster that did so.
With that, everyone set out to rest just as the Absurd wished, although not everyone went to their respective tents.
"L-Lyra...?! W-What are you doing here...? Are you not sleeping with Lady Auros?"
"Not tonight. We are friends. Sylvie needs warmth. Comfort. Company. So, can I?"
"...I...would like that. I would like that a lot..."
Most went to sleep with others at their tents, like a certain high beast kin maid who went to the tent of the apprentice maid knight, Sylvie, to sleep with her. At first, she was surprised, but thanks to her talk with the rough talking maid, she welcomed the company and the warmth that her friend offered to her with a grateful smile.
