A few hours passed.

"We are back, dear. And the girl wants to show you something. Right, Patricia?"

"Yes! I figured it out, so please give me a bit of your time! I promise that I will not disappoint you this time!"

A certain Harpy and an Engineer Maid returned to Tolemac, having finished their work on marking all of the outer wall's sectors needed for the maid's plan earlier than expected. All thanks to the Harpy's shortcuts and perfect knowledge of the city she designed ages ago. And as such, they appeared before the harpy's husband and Tolemac's gatekeeper, Morack, ready to tackle the next task on their list.

Reignite Morack's passion for building.

Of course, that was not the only thing of importance happening in Tolemac at the time.

Even one would not be mistaken to say that something way bigger was about to happen.

The Silver-Gold Mercenary Company had continued their tour around Tolemac, passing by the Eatery just as their guide, Roga, had mentioned and were closing in on the central plaza.

"We are almost there everyone."

"Yes, I can see that."

"See? I can feel that. Roga, I don't remember you mentioning it when you talked about the barrier raised by the Goddess herself, but could that be...?"

"..."

They were so close that the mercenaries could already see the pedestal at the center of it, like the elven huntress Rias. Even more, as they got closer, they began to feel the power of the object that rested on it. Although, the first ones to do so where the crusader leader of the company, the Argent and the one walking beside her, the dryad healer, Rumi.

'It is.'

Putting their right hand over their locket and grasping it tightly while they thought that, said dryad couldn't help but sharpen their gaze as they laid eyes on their objective for the first time, no, at the object that would allow them to accomplish their goal of making Tolemac fall.

"Yeah, that's how the Goddess raised the barrier. She used her blood to do it, a whole sphere of it. As for why I failed to mention it before, well, I needed to know if I could trust you. So, I thought that not mentioning the most important object in this world, and therefore its value, would keep you more honest than if I did. After all, interest is a good motivator to fake things, such as acceptance, don't you think?"

Roga gave a side-glance to the mercenaries as he asked such question after, his expression having turned into a serious one for a moment, turning the previously relaxed mood into a tense one. But such expression, and the following mood, disappeared as soon as he returned his gaze to the street before him and relaxed once more.

He even chuckled and shook his head.

Something that seemed bother Gran, the Kobold Caster.

"Grr...what's so funny?"

"Ah, sorry, sorry. I'm not making fun of you guys if that's what you think. I was just thinking that even if that were the case, and you wanted to take the Goddess' Blood for whatever reason, it would be useless."

"I'll bite...why?"

"You're a Caster, right? Just take a deeper look, it should be easy for you figure it out. It was raised and strengthened yesterday."

Roga pointed at the pedestal with his chin and Gran glared at him for a second before turning to the pedestal and focusing on it. Soon enough, his eyes began to emit a dim magical glow as he enhanced his eyesight to better view mana and then he saw it.
