The Last Phase.

A phase where the boss either goes nuts or uses another attack that it didn't use before. An attack that in this case even damaged the boss itself, like, all of its armor is gone. It broke in pieces and fell to the floor. Its obvious weak point even got damaged by it, it now has cracks here and there. They are not that deep but now it is just a matter of time before they do become deep via attacks and the core breaks completely.

Oh! There's a bigger one right where Maevis' spear struck it before! Nice!

Still, launching a self-damaging attack while in the red...those normally carry quite the nasty debuffs too.

Well, as you can see my weebs, that seems to be the case here.

It roared and they stopped moving.

Erica and her team, who were about to finish the boss, were instead pushed back by the sheer force of the soundwave and they haven't gotten back up.

The rest look frozen in the moment.

Like Sam, she is still in a position that makes her look like she is readying her shot. Heck, even her mana arrow is still on her hand. And yet, she isn't moving.

Or Evangeline, she is frozen in the position where she is raising her Warhammer, ready to end another singing Mon-kun.

Then we have Ragna who has bound many of them with her thread, and she is stuck in a pulling position. As in she was in the middle of pulling them towards her with that same thread. A thread that is incredibly sharp, by the way, judging by the cuts the singing Mon-kuns have.

Lastly, we have Max, who has a worried Belle beside her, protecting her from any approaching Mon-kun.

The only one who seems to be able to move and is in the middle of protecting Ragna from a Mon-kun that is behind her, is...Sylvie.

Yes, surprising even me.

Hmm? You are asking that if that is the case, then why is she moving in slow motion?

Come on, you should already know by now.

When I sometimes converse with Nerinne, we do it in an instant.

A moment that expands and seems too long.

Other times, most of the times we...DO IT LIVE!

Ahem...sorry, I couldn't hold back the reference.

Back to the slightly more serious mode...

So, think of what I'm doing as the former rather than the latter but this time alone. All done the very instant after I confirmed that they weren't moving.

Yes, I did it so that I could figure out what happened to them.

While I already think I have an answer for this I want to confirm it.

That is why, I'll have you review this with me.

Is it a simple stun?

No, they all have a high rank in [Abnormal Status Resistance].

So, everything along those lines is also discarded, like sound-based paralysis or some sort of petrification.

Instinct agrees. Orat least, it leans more to that side.

Then that leaves us with debuffs that go through such resistances.

You know, the things that those pesky devs get in when they realize that debuffs stop being a concern after one is high leveled enough to either craft, brew, or buy lots of resistance buffing stuff.
