The Silver-Gold Mercenary Company.

One of the most recognized mercenary companies in the Rosar Empire.

One which name was synonym of 'getting things done'.

To the point their leader, the one known as Argent, was given the title of Honorary Sentinel, for her perfect contract record and her accomplishments in the missions her company has done in the name of the Empire.

It not much to say that that is the highest recognition an Empire's citizen can obtain without formally being part of the Empire's military.

It is equal, and even sometimes superior to, the genuine Sentinel rank that one can aspire to within the military.

In the end, this rank is the way for the Emperor to declare someone as 'truly useful', 'truly valuable', 'one that can push the Empire towards the future'.

This was extended to the company, since they were perceived as an extension of Argent.

Of course, that rank also came with incredible responsibilities and continuous meetings with the senate.

Things that tied Argent down.

That being the one thing that she disliked the most ever since she learned how to walk.

Her freedom being hampered or taken from her.

That is why she enjoyed her partnership with Sentinel Garcés, despite one or two things.

She would do some jobs for him and he would cover for her on all the annoying Senate stuff.

At least, most of it.

All so that she and her company could focus on doing the work that needs to be done for furthering the Empire's objectives or simply delivering on their promises to their contractors, without worrying about those things.

Just as she has been doing for more than a week now.

The contract to locate both the lost sealing chamber of an Emissary of the Evil God and the country from which the Nightmare hails from.

"Finally. The damn foot of the mountain... We should have left the imperial road long before."

Grumbled the kobold Gran, as he got off his mana powered vehicle and stored it in its special storage bracelet like the rest of the Silver-Gold company.

"Yeah, yeah. You should thank Rumi here for the shortcut instead of grumbling like that, Gran."

Said the Argent without even turning to look at him, after all she was occupied with something more important.

The mountain that towered over them and the forest that lied in front of them.

And of course, the darkening sky as the evening sun kept its retreat.

"It was nothing leader, just using my intuition as always."

Said, Rumi, the company's vice-leader and a dryad.

"If I did not know you, I would say that you have some sort of secret map inside your head, Rumi."

Indeed, there was no path or trail before her, just a forest dense in vegetation.

"Huhu...yes, it might look like that, leader. But I am just doing my job with the abilities I have been given."

Rumi giggled at Argent's words before replying to her while getting close to one of the plants they had near. The moment Rumi touched one of its leaves, the point of her fingers and said leave started to shine in a dim green light.
