It was a busy night in the streets of San Francisco. Everywhere you looked people where dancing, eating and over all having fun. A carnival had made its way to the city, bringing joy to the citizens. Many artists where showing off their skills, in hope of getting a few coins for their efforts. And one woman in particular was stealing the show.
The Volturi guard made their way through the festivities that where taking place in San Francisco at the moment. Their goal was clear, capture you and bring you back to Volterra. They finally found you as you were ready to perform. You were dressed in clothes that didn't leave much up to a person's imagination and your beauty could easily compete Heidi's. But that wasn't the reason why the Volturi wanted you. It was because of your special skill.
You send the audience a playful smirk before igniting flames from your fingertips, dancing around with it. The audience clapped and cheered. You danced around, making the flames illuminate the right body parts as you danced around in the circle the audience had made around you. You smile never once faltered. You loved the attention the people were giving you. Whether it was because of your skill, or your enhanced beauty. No one even noticed your black eyes, as the darkness of the night consumed them completely.
No one but the four guards in the back, they watched your every move. The twins felt a slight fear that remained from when they were burnt at the stake many centuries ago, but their fear wasn't shown on their faces. The largest guard, Felix was mostly bored, watching the other humans around you being intrigued. And finally there was the tracker, Demetri, he was captivated by every move you made. As your body twirled and your hair flowed along in the wind. But the moment you made eye contact with him, was the moment he knew he was sold. You were his mate, and he felt the warm feeling your gaze brought upon him speed his way through his ice cold body, warming him up completely.
You felt the same feeling, but soon panic rose inside your chest. The Volturi had found you, and you knew it was about the fact you so openly performed your gifts in front of humans. You knew that if they got their hands on you, if they would capture you they would either kill you or force you to join them. You quickly summoned a huge dragon made of fire and disappeared in the darkness. Hoping you had distracted the Volturi long enough to make your escape. You quickly fled towards the water, hoping the tracked couldn't find you once you where deep in it. But before you could jump, a crippling pain filled your body and you fell down to your knees, screaming in agony. Strong arms soon wrapped around your body and an amazing smell filled your nose. "Jane, enough please. I got her." A deep yet angelic voice said above you. The pain soon stopped and you needed a moment to regain yourself. You pulled away slightly and saw a dark grey cloak and the Volturi crests right infront of you. You cursed slightly and tried to get out of the vampire's grip, ready to use your gift of fire when he suddenly pulled you closer to him. "Come, come cara mia. You do not want to hurt your mate, now do you?" He whispered softly so only you could hear him. A small growl rose from your chest and the thought of hurting him and you calmed down soon enough. You knew it was a lost cause. You couldn't hurt him, nor leave him. It would not only kill him, but you as well. Well kill you on the inside that was.
He slowly helped you stand up, but kept you close to him. He gently placed two fingers under your chin and made you look up into his deep, blood red eyes, making the warm feeling from before return ten times stronger. A small smirk played around Demetri's lips before leaning down, capturing your lips with his own. And that was the moment when you lost the battle. You knew he would take you back with him and that Aro would finally have a pyrokinetic to add to his collection. But in that moment you didn't care anymore. The only important thing was you in his arms and his lips capturing yours in an ever longing and lingering kiss.
