Itsy Bitsy Spider

Leon had just gotten home from school. As usual, he walked upstairs to throw his backpack in his room before he could head back downstairs for dinner. He had to stop in front of your room when he noticed his mum on top of the chair with her phone in her hand.

"Mum, what are you doing?"

Startled by the sudden voice, Lena dropped her phone on the floor and sighed, figuring that she wasn't going to be able to finish her work now.

"Nothing. I'm just trying out a new exercise that I read online."

Leon gave him her signature look. Making her smile and eventually answer his question semi-truthfully.

"I like the view form up here."

With no choice but to call for you, he yelled to get your attention.

"MOM! MUM IS BEING WEIRD. COME OVER."

You rushed upstairs, thinking that she would be curled up in the bed, crying but the sight you saw when you first arrived made you laugh. Enough that it brought out your tears and managed to annoy Lena.

"I'm sorry, honey but what in the world are you. doing up there."

Lena raised her eyebrow at your and crossed her arms.

"What does it look like I'm doing? I can do whatever I want and if it means that I want to stand on top of a chair then I will do so."

Aha! She might have a good poker face in board meetings as well as in speeches and poker but spiders were her ultimate weakness. You could practically hear her screaming on the inside.

"It's alright, love. Tell me where the spider is?"

Lena knew that she had been figured out and had no choice other than to point at a spot near her side of the bed. You followed her finger and soon got rid of the spider, tossing it in the trash and then walking over to her to get her down.

"There. All better."

She pulled you in to a hug, letting her head rest on your chest.

"My hero, who needs Supergirl when I have you."
