Shade's pov:

The first half of the the went good enough. I have seven classes with Farley, four of them has already passed.

She warned me that the teachers here start hard from day one, but I expected something nicer. A round of names, an introduction game, things like that.

Instead, I was bored to death from the beginning of the first period, and continued suffering for the rest of the day, until lunch came.

As I walk outside with Farley on my side, I think about the students in my class. Some are nice, like that Calore, whatever his first name is. He was nice escorting me to my class, but I know who he is.

The Calores are a huge part of the ministry, and from what I read in newspapers, they have the biggest companies in Norta. Companies. Earlier in class I was looking on the students on my phone, trying to figure them out. Not a stalcker guys.

Apparently, the name Calore came from a dinesty of kings, who deceived the people They had fire controlling abilities. Pretty cool.

we sit down, me groaning from hunger, and Diana smirks at me. Looking at the schoole building, I watch a pair of people walk out. I recognize my sister and... Calore?!

I look at them, smirking because he's more then a foot taller, and she seems more of a dwarf than usual. She frowns at my smirk, and I can feel the punch she is dying to give me.

While they move closer, I can see the blush in their cheeks, probably from embarrassment or as big kids call it, sexual tension. There's no way they knew eachother before today.

So how the hell Did she already make the most popular kid in this entire school like her?

I start doubting his kindness, watching them walk over, speaking to each other. More than anything, I have to resist the urge to give Cal a long speech about respecting my sister or I'll send him to the emergency room.

Farley once told me I'm over protective. But is over protectiveness counts if you do normal things like trying to think of ways to dispose his body in case he hurts Mare? Nah, I'm good.

When they're a few yards from us, Calore turns around, going back to his gang. I can see him winking. Mare smiles back, looking like a tomato. She walks over, plopping down next to us. Farley smirk at her, already teasing. "So," she start. "First day and you already marked Calore?" She chuckles. "You're ambitious, Barrow." Mare blush again, seriously, since when does she cares so much about boys? "I didn't mark him." She says, flustered.

"Good." Farley continues. "Since he's the team captain, the main cheerleader, Evangeline Samos has him on his target." She nod her head in their direction, and we both look on.

On the largest table in the cafeteria, where all the top smug kids eat, sits a few girls as well. One has moonlight skin and fiery hair, one as pale with silver hair, and one with dark skin and black hair. A nightmare trio for sure. They aren't bad-looking, though I don't ever want to talk to them.

I recognize Ptolemus Samos, the silver haired dummy, and assume, since his name's Samos, the silver haired chick is his sister. They look alike, with same skin, hair, and eyes. Even their posture is the same proud stance. Not surprised he looks like an angry gorilla, when his name is as awful as Ptolemus.

"I hate her." Mare states. Never one for gentleness. Both me and Farley double over. She frowns. "Really Mare?" I ask, fighting through chuckles. Diana takes on, able to get out more than two words. "Over the boy you just met? You already hate Samos?" She narrow her eyes. "I've had a few classes with the idiot earlier." She glance back, obviously trying to hide her flush. "I already know she's a bitch." Diana throws her head back, laughing her ass off. I simply glare at her. "Mom told you to stop swearing." She shrug, uneffectived.

"So what do you think about him?" I ask. Please say you think he's a pretty jackass. I blush to myself. Maybe I should also work on my language. "I know," Farley smirk "she thinks he's hot." At that, Mare's entire face become red hot. "What did he say earlier that made you look like a head sized apple?" Mare looks reluctant to tell us, and for a good reason. "We won't laugh, please..." I give her a begging look, and she laugh at me. She opens her mouth to answer, as Kilorn shouts his presence.

"Finally here!" He grins. Flopping down, he takes a piece of my sandwich, exaderating eating it. We all roll our eyes. Mare was about to tell us about her new boyfriend, Warran! But I don't say it, because I know he had feelings for her. Mare on the hand, doesn't share his motives. I talked to her about it, and she said she doesn't love him that way. So I pushed them into a discussion about it, and for all I know, they're still friends, and will probably stay that way.

I zone out on Mare and Kilorn's bickering, lacing my fingers with Farley's. She grins, and continues staring at the field. At least I have her. I smile to myself. And that's enough for now.
