Instead of the battle as we know it, something else happens.
Hope you'll enjoy 🙃

Farley grew more and more anxious as they waited. It's been hours, yet Norta and the Lakelands didn't attack.

The soldiers were just as restless as their commander. The cold didn't do any good either. A few soldiers had developed hypothermia, and were treated by the healers. Still, there wasn't much they could do against the freezing rain.

She could settle in a building for now, but she didn't want to leave the front. The clouds covered the sky, but Farley could tell it was already night time.

Something was wrong. She could feel it in her soaking bones. She knew they were playing with them, but she couldn't figure it out, no matter how much she thought and discussed it with Davidson and the other commanders.

At this point her nerves have already skyrocket. The Samos princess heading in her direction didn't help.

But Farley would never show weakness to a silver. She straightened, hiding her worry behind a look of boldness.

Evangeline wasn't taken aback one bit. She was a ruthless princess, raised to sneer at all reds. Cold and poised. So Farley was taken aback when she saw the Samos's distressed expression.

Farley's hand strayed to the pistol hanged on her belt, but she didn't bother pulling it out. Evangeline was a magnetron, so Farley's bullets were useless against her.

Still, she made sure the gun was open and ready for shooting. You couldn't be too prepared against a silver. They were born with advantage over Farley's people. Oh, how much she despised them for it.

"Anabel, my father and Davidson are planning to marry me to Tiberias," Evangeline said.

Farley inspected the silver. Was it pain in her voice? Actual tremor? The only reason she let emotion sneak into her voice was because she needed Farley's help. And Farley knew it. And she was going to take advantage of it as much as she could.
