Updates:

So far, we haven't gotten any more information about how the adaptation is going to be. Whether it'll be a movie or a series, remains to be seen. Victoria had been teasing us: talking about emails, meetings etc. So it's definitely on track.

I prefer it to be a series, and I'm going to leave my rant down bellow, if you want to read my ideas.

First season:

The Red Queen first book. I think it should remain as it stands. I don't want it to go further than the epilogue.

Second season:

Glass Sword and King's Cage first half.
I think it should be divided into half seasons. (Once Upon a Time style, for those who watched the show.)

Glass Sword wasn't a very loved, or interesting book. So it should be cut down and served as a half season. A lot of it can be rewritten, and improved.

But there are a few points I want to make:

-make it clear Mareven is no longer a possibility. Yes, people can love the ship, some of my followers do and you're allowed to ship whatever you want. Regardless, it would send a bad massage to people watching the show, that you should go back to someone who's trying to kill/hurt you. (Which is a huge problem in YA literature).

-don't erase all the horrible things Maven did. Murdering people, a baby, the human shield of chained reds in the Nearcy battle, branding Mare, sending creepy notes, hurting newbloods.

-Do not ignore Mare's trauma! She won't jump directly into Cal's arms, she won't trust her friends and family, and she won't always act nice! A wildly forgotten scene that should remain is when Mare and the others are walking in a forest, and she hallucinate Maven with blood dripping down his face, murderous.

-There are always consequences, which was a theme throughout this book.

-Some characters can be cut. A lot of them aren't mentioned again and it's a waste of screen time. Ada, Cameron, Nanny, Wolliver Galt, Luther and Nix (the first recruite), are pretty much the only ones necessary to the plot.

-honestly, (and I might be dragged for it) save us the KilornxMare plot. It adds nothing, and only isolates Mare further. Make Kilorn protective, rather than jealous. It's a chance for a male and female friendship on screen. In GS, one of the most annoying things was these two not talking at all. Giving Mare someone to count on could brighten the situation so much. We have enough relationship drama already 🤷‍♀️

King's Cage first half, aka Mare imprisoned.

The second half of the season should begin with the 'interrogation' scene. Mare holding Cal and pregnant Farley's hands, unfamiliar faces around the table.

Then, "Six months ago...." And we get most of the story, blah blah blah. It's a way to assure us there's a bright end at the end of the tunnel. Also, pregnant Farley?? MareCal??? Random people? Unfamiliar place???? For people who didn't read the books, there's going to be a lot of questions.

The final scene would be Cal attacking Mare. The way I imagine it, he'll look murderous, and start walking towards her, fire in hand. Mare will start backing away, and glance to the side to find Samson smirking at her, saying "kill her." Cal shoots a fireball at the camera, and END SEASON!

(Btw, my friend came up with most of this, so I hope I did it justice)

Third season:

I think it should start with Farley's story, Steel Scars. We don't know much about her yet. That way, we'll find out why she's pregnant, Fade's story, and world building. The last scene should be Farley and Shade seeing Mare fall down to the lightning shield. tying Farley's backstory to the main plot.

Then, the MareCal battle, reunions, and letting things roll from there. Obviously, I want more cute MareCal moments, more LIGHTNING GANG (why do people dislike them, they barely exist?), And of course, our Queen Evangeline.🤩

Since it's a series, we can skip between the Rift, Norta, the Lakelands and Piedmont. This should be used, like in the Hunger Games. We saw the other side, the backstage.

I don't know if I want them to include the epilogue. Maybe have them walk outside, and only Cal comes back, sitting with the silvers. A shot of Mare, Farley and Davidson looking all determined, with Mare saying "we're going to let them kill each other."

Or just the full epilogue.

Or maybe we only see them walk to the balcony, and Evangeline looking desperate. Saving the heartbreak for the next season. I really don't know.

Fourth season:

Honestly, I don't have a lot of ideas for this. Assuming it'll ever go this far 😂

War Storm was a bit all over the place, tbh. So I don't really have much of a structure for it. Iris content can be cut, she didn't justify the amount of pages spent on her.

Instead of the quite frustrating ending😤 (although justified), we could have Iron Heart, followed up with Fire Light. Maybe incorporate other Broken Throne stories, somehow🙃.
