Hope you'll enjoy!!😊

She pushes the balcony doors open, stepping into the fresh air. Her dress flows behind her as she makes the way to the railing.

She looks down at the garden, and the people in it. Reds, and silvers. Rich and poor. Old nobles and young workers, every diversity could be shown at the queen's yard.

She accepted them all as her new family. Every citizen of her kingdom knew he could always trust the queen.

She relished the thought.

She relished the situation.

Mare loved being queen.

The queen. The winner. The Red Queen. The once little lightning girl. A queen with no king. But she wasn't alone.

She lost them all. Her family, dead. Her old friends, either dead or keeping their distance. Her loves. The ghost king, a horrible man, she killed. And Cal, was away from her, never to return to the woman he called monster, the one he thought got mad with sorrow.

But she wasn't mad. Not insane, and most certainly not a fool.

No, she was smart, cunning. Kind, generous. Loving, Empathetic. She was strong, and powerful.

But unlike the old silvers, her reign was smooth, successful. She had peace with the continent, she found new lands, history, science. She was the greatest ruler they ever known. She was the best person to ever wear the crown.

It's true that sometimes, at night, she missed being held by a warm prince. But she didn't resent him, simply let him go his way. He was forever welcome in her life, she said, back before she was queen.

She wouldn't go back. Never. Not after everything. Despite the deaths and the losses, she knew it was for the best.

Call her cold. Call her heartless, for preferring to rule instead of savings the ones once closest to her. She was hope, she was success.

She completed her mission. Because not long ago, her seer came. She rose, but not alone, and they knew it. He helped her. Always.

She fought.

She lied.

She killed.

She did what was needed.

And she rose, swallowing the world entirely. It was never the same.

She was red and silver, and stronger than both.

She was Mare Barrow.

And she was the Lightning Queen.

Dark, I know. I usually write funny things, but that was something I wanted to exist, because she's always queen for marrying Cal.
I'll write Julian pov while he comes visit the library and new archives. I'll make it a series, and perhaps there will be a MareCal reunion, not sure I want it for this series, though.
There will be plenty of little serieses opening, so keep a watch.😉
