(Jack's POV)

Been three days since Daddy repaired my staff, and we moved in Nightmare Castle. It's quite a change. First off, I'm being castle-schooled. Daddy is the strictest. Teacher. Ever!

We've been working on history of our family, and before Auradon was formed, and just after they created the Isle of the Lost! And geography of everywhere. Oh, c'mon! Who cares what Skull Rock is shaped like? The name kinda gave it away!

He has put emphasis in my power development most of all. It actually is pretty cool! My flying is way easier now. Also I can alter my clothing! Bye-bye mismatched outfits!

My staff can also change to different weapons. Daddy is teaching me how to use a bow and arrow. He's pretty good at using a bow. "Much better than your blasted Uncle Sandy!" He said, when I told him he was good at using a bow.

Right now? We were having a combat practice session.

"Come on, Jackson! You can do much better than this!" Daddy surged inky waves of nightmare sand at me.

Cold sweat dripped down my back. I'm trying as hard as I can!

"I trained you better than this, Child! Do you want to be captured by Auradon? Do you want to be thrown back to the Isle to rot? Do you have Stockholm Syndrome or something? " Daddy's taunts were getting nastier.

"YAAAAAHHHH!" I screamed releasing a seriously large amount of ice shards, causing Daddy to fall onto the snow-covered ground.

"Daddy!" I couldn't have hurt him, could I!?

I rush to his side. "Daddy?"

SMACK!

I was hurled to the ground. Daddy loomed over me and pinned me to the ground with his sand.

"HEY!"

"NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!" Daddy looked furious.

But so was I.

I broke free. "UGH! You're welcome! I just wanted to make sure you were alright! But what do I get? Hurled to the ground!"

"You can't afford to make mistakes on the battlefield, Jack! There are no second chances in war!"

"Well, excuse me if you matter more than war!" I snap and fly off.

I finally plop down under one of the dark trees. I sulking. Why does Daddy have to be SO obsessed with fighting and survival? What was so wrong about wanting to check on him to make sure he was okay?

I know he loves me, but can't I show my love the way he does? Why does he have a double standard?

"Jack?" Daddy's voice sounded from behind the tree. I stand up. I don't wanna answer. I'm still mad at him.

"Jack, please. I did not mean to be so harsh. Please come out, Son."

I feel something in my heart twist. Sigh.

"Daddy." I step out to face him.

He looked relieved to see me. I smiled.

I can never stay mad at Daddy for long

I can never stay mad at Daddy for long. We hug.

"I'm sorry, Jack. I was harsh to you. I know you were only concerned about me. I was afraid you wouldn't be prepared to fight. We're in a war we can't afford to lose, Son."

"Hey, it'll be okay, Daddy. I'm gonna train hard. Five times harder. Ten times harder! Until I'm even better than you."

"I have no doubt you will, Jack."

I know he meant it. I would be force none had ever imagined!

Author's Note: Alright! This chapter has shown Jack is clearly gotten more powerful and in control. Pitch is training him to be unbeatable. But will it be enough? And how will Auradon handle this as well as their political issues? Please vote, comment, and share this chapter. 🤗
