The Space Between Us (Jimin)

You were an astronaut for NASA. You had been training your whole life to become one and now you were. You were given a task to travel space for five years to see what else was out there. On your day of returning you finally decided to call Jimin.

"Yeoboseyo?" Jimin answers, sounding like he just woke up.

"Jiminieeeee" You say and there was a bunch of shuffling.

"(Y/N)?! You called! I missed you" He says excitedly and you smile at your husband's reaction.

"I missed you too. How are you and (Y/D/N)?" you ask, missing your daughter.

"We're good. She asks about you every day." He says and you feel a slight pain in your heart.

"I miss you guys so much. I'm actually on my way back to earth." You say and laugh as he giggles like a little kid.

"I can't wait to have you in my arms."

As you and Jimin continue to talk your alarm starts to go off causing a red flash to go on and off.

"What is that?" Jimin asks, and you could hear the panic in his voice.

"Jimin calm down. It looks like there's something going on with my... I need to exit the ship. I'm transferring you to my helmet so I can hear you while I fix it." You say calmly.

"Please be safe." Jimin says as you place your suit on and helmet.

"I will Park Jimin. Stop worrying" You say exiting your shuttle.

As you see the severity of your situation you knew you were in a lot of trouble. The side of your shuttle has been peeled and stripped to its wires some how and now all you could do was wing it.

As if your whole day turns for the worst your engine blows out. You tune out Jimin panicking as you start to try and take things under control.

"(Y/N)!" Jimin shouts

"What?!"

"Please, you're scaring me. Tell me what's going on" He says and you tear up as you go back in your shuttle and send out a help signal, muting yourself temporarily so he couldn't hear you.

"Jimin, I want you to wake up (Y/D/N)" You say calmly and he says okay and you wait a moment and smile as you hear him waking your daughter up.

"Mommy!"

"Hi baby. I just want to say mommy loves you. Be good for daddy, don't cause him any trouble, for me okay?"

"Okay mommy!"

"Good night babes."

"Good night!"

You hear a Jimin say good night and kiss her goodnight before a door closing.

"(Y/N)?" He asks and you sniff as your shuttle starts to shake. You head to the emergency pod but the door wouldn't open.

This shuttle is going to explode in three minutes

"(Y/N) what did that message say?"

"Jimin-"

"No what did that message say."

"Please Jimin listen to me." you say, your voice breaking and he instantly goes quiet.

"I want you to sing Serendipity. Please don't stop singing, regardless of what you hear." You say, grabbing onto a door knob, trying to steady yourself.

"O..okay."He says and starts to sing.

As he sang you got a message from NASA saying they were sending a pod to you but they need exactly five minutes.

There's not that much time..

Two minutes remaining

"(Y/N)" Jimin whimpers

"Keep going" You say calmly and you hear him crying.

"Jiminie, please.... I want to hear you sing one last time." You whisper and he sniffs before continuing to sing.

You make your way to the front and you grab a picture of Jimin and (Y/D/N) hugging and you hold it close to your body and take it out the frame and fold it up and put it in your pocket and zip your pocket up.

One minute remaining

You make one last look around to grab anything you want. You sigh and make your way to the door and a loud explosion sound was heard and you jump out the shuttle as you see flames quickly approaching. Due to the debris flying, you try moving out the way but one piece of metal hits your helmet, cracking it.

You feel cold as you drift out into the abyss. His voice becomes echo-y as you start to feel yourself losing consciousness. Trying to stay away you try to hum to him singing. When he finishes you smile.

"Jimin" You say quietly as you hear him crying.

"Yes?"

"I love..you"

"I love you too (Y/N)"

You start to feel yourself fade out. As you go you hear Jimin saying your name. You didn't have the strength to say anything back to him as much as you wanted to. You were drifting out and there was nothing you could do about it.

You open your eyes to a dark room. You groan and saw tubes not only in your arms but felt them in your nose. You look around and saw a slumped figure in a chair. You open your mouth to speak but nothing came out. The figure sits up and there was Jimin with blood shot eyes.

"You're awake... You're awake!" He shouts coming to realization and he instantly falls to his knees and cries.

"Where am I?"

"You're in the hospital. NASA sent out a pod and they found you floating deeper into space. They were able to get you in before you died miraculously." He says and you nod slowly.

"Where's (Y/D/N)?"

"Suga hyung is watching her." He says wiping his tears.

You hum and he gets up and walks up to you. You weakly gesture for him to lean down and when he does you wipe his tears.

"I'm home Jiminie"
