You/Mariska Hargitay - Choking

Summary: She saves you

All her coworkers told her it was ridiculous for her to even sign up for CPR training. They had said it was a waste of time and that her time could've been spent somewhere else. Mariska didn't share they same beliefs as them. She thought it was vital to know how to help someone in need. It didn't matter if she was famous. If someone were to ever need help, she would rather know what to do than watch helplessly as they struggled to find someone that knew CPR. 

It just so happened that a couple of weeks later after getting certified, she found herself in a situation where someone was choking in front of her. Mariska dropped her things and moved to the other side of the table to help the woman that was choking on her food. Her training kicked in and she was able to successfully complete the heimlich maneuver.

You took a couple of deep breaths to make sure that you were able to complete breathe normally. Just a couple of seconds ago, you had been on a brink of death because of your lack of breathing. It might've been a little of an over-exaggeration but you had felt as if your life had flashed before your eyes. 

Turning around to thank the person who had saved you, you couldn't help but think that she looked quite familiar. It was a little hard trying to figure out who she was with the fact that you could feel a headache coming on so you just pushed it to the back of your mind. The woman had literally saved your life and you still hadn't thanked her. 

"Fuck. Oh wow. Thank you so much. You literally saved my life."

"It's no problem, really. I was just glad that I was able to help. I actually just got certified."

"Really? Wow, I'm incredibly lucky then."

You weren't sure what it was or why you hadn't notice a circle of people taking pictures and thrusting things in front of the woman's face. 

"It looks like you already have fans for what you did. I should really go get checked to make sure that nothing permanent happened. Thank you again for saving me. Here, take my card and give me a call whenever you're free. I'll really like to take you out for dinner after you saved me. It's the least I could do."

"I should've gotten my certificate years ago. I could've been famous a long time ago."

You give her a smile and hand her your card. 

"Better late than never. I'll leave you with your adoring fans."

"Bye...." Mariska looks down at your card to read your name and then back up at you, "(y/n). I'll give you a call then."

"I still can't believe that you thought they were taking pictures and asking for autographs when I saved you."

"Shut up, Mariska! I was lightheaded from the fact that I had been choking. Give me a break."

Mariska rolls her eyes and kisses your cheek.

"It doesn't matter. I'm just glad that you're Mrs. Hargitay now. It has a nice ring to it."
