You/Claire Holt - Notes

Summary - You remind her how much you love her

Claire was always so busy. Which was a good thing. You loved seeing her go to work and coming back happy with what she had done. The thing was that it sometimes sucked when she would have long hours. When Claire would come back from work, you would already be asleep and even if you tried to stay up for her, you would go back to sleep.

The brilliant idea of leaving her random notes in the house came to you after mindlessly searching Pinterest for romantic ideas. You've been wanting to surprise her with a date but this was a much better idea. It would remind her about how much you supported her and loved her.

The notes would be placed all over, on the bathroom mirror, on top of her purse, near her keys, on her fridge, on her phone, inside pockets, and sometimes you would have someone leave her notes at work when you bribed them.

Claire would always smile and send you a quick message when she found one. Always saying how they brightened up her day and that she loved you so much.

You didn't think about the notes after you left them. You always assumed that Claire would throw them away after reading them but you were completely wrong when you were searching her closet for a pair of shoes that you wanted to borrow from her.

"Babe, are you sure they are here? I can't seem to find them."

Claire was currently downstairs, finishing her makeup while she waited for you. The two of you were having a rare night off at the same time so you both decided to go out.

"Check the black boxes, I think I might've misplaced them in their wrong box."

You searched through the boxes she had in her closet, coming across various pairs of shoes until you came across the notes that you would leave her. You pulled one out and read it loudly, realizing that it was one of the first ones that you had left for her.

"Did you fin... Oh."

Looking up to meet her eyes, she noticed the tears in your eyes. Claire made her way over to you, taking a seat beside you to comfort you.

"I'm sorry, (y/n). I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to keep them."

You shake your head and wiped the tears away.

"No. It's not that. I just thought you would throw them away. I didn't think you would actually keep them."

Claire gives you one of her smiles that was reserved for you.

"I love reading them. Sometimes I come in here and just read through some of them to help me deal with things. I don't want to bother you at work since it's always for silly things and these notes provide me comfort."

After closing the box and placing it back to where it was, you pulled her in for a soft kiss.

"I'm glad they give you comfort but you know that I would rather you call me than have you be alone with your thoughts. Promise me that you'll call next time?'

"I can't make any promises, but I will try. Though, I am keeping the box."

"Of course, love. Now come on. We have reservations and I'm dying to try their new dish."
