Summary: You get separated from Kara
Prompt by: G-Wolffie
AN: Kara still hasn't come out as Supergirl
Your first ever love was Kara Danvers. She completed you and as much as she made you happy, your parents didn't approve of her. Not only because she was a woman but because of the fact that she was labeled the town's weirdo for the way she behaved. It made you angry to hear them mock her. It wasn't Kara's fault that she wasn't from this planet. You tried to shield her from everyone's harsh words but you could only do so much.
Your parents tried to get you to stop from hanging out with her but you always found a way. They were frustrated and with no other choice, they shipped you off. You hadn't even had a chance to tell Kara what was going on. Your parents had taken away your phone, taking away the only way you could communicate with her.
When you arrived to the other side of the country, your family kept you isolated. Always taking you to and from school to make sure you didn't try to contact Kara and it worked. There was no way you could send letters to her because they always got the mail, they kept your money in check and had refused to replace your phone.
The minute you turned 18, you ran away and never looked back.
As soon as you had saved up enough money, the first thing you wanted to do was run back to Midvale to be with Kara but you couldn't. It had been years since you had last seen Kara. There was no way she would even remember you. You had to let her go.

With no money and no support, you found yourself a job at a small town. You saved up enough money for college and a little apartment for you to share with roommates. It wasn't the best living situation but it was was 10x better than staying with your insane family.
You studied and worked had to be able to graduate with no debt. Your degree opened a lot of doors for you that as soon as you graduated, you had received quite a few job offers. They all seemed good but none of them compared the L-Corp's job offer. They beat out all other offers with salary and the benefits they provided. It was no brained that you ended up accepting their offer.
The CEO, Lena Luthor, was the best boss you could ever ask for. The very first day you went in, she had taken you out for lunch to get to know you better and explain what the company stood for and how you fit in. She made sure that you felt welcomed. It was no surprise that the two of you had become fast friends.

As usual, whenever you advanced on your prototypes, you rushed to Lena's office to show her your progress.
"Lena! You wouldn't belie..."
You finally looked up for your prototype to find Lena sitting besides a woman that looked strangely familiar.
"Kara?"
"(y/n)?"
Lena looks between the two of you. Waiting for an explanation of how you both knew each other.
"The two of you know each other?"
She asked, realizing that she wasn't going to get an explanation from either of you as it seemed you were both stuck in your own bubble.
"We went to Midvale together and then I moved away."
You explained to her.
"I should go. I definitely interrupted something."
"No wa.."
"I'm sorry. I should have knocked."
You leave, not really wanting to hear what Kara had to say.
