You woke completely sore from Villanelle trying to make it up to you for leaving so long. You loved the feeling that despite not being able to move to well, you couldn't wait for the next time that she tried to make it up to you.
Waking up, you had fully expected for Villanelle to be gone already but you were pleasantly surprised that she was still asleep besides you. After months of begging her to stay the night, she stays the one night that you don't ask. You quietly tried to get up but it was impossible without letting out a quiet groan. Villanelle had gotten used to always be alert for everything that the smallest sound woke her up and before you knew it, she had you pinned back down on the bed.
Her grip on your wrists eases as she leans down to place a gentle kiss on your lips.
"Morning, beautiful."
"Morning Villanelle. I didn't think you would stay the night."
"I told you that I wanted to make it up to you for being gone all those days. I'm free today before I have to ship out for another job."
You give her a pout, making her smile down at you.
"None of that, (y/n). You know that I can't miss any job. My reputation proceeds me. It's the only reason why I'm able to afford all those extravagant things I get you."
"What if I don't want any of that? I just want you here with me."
Villanelle climbs off of you and the bed as she heads to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
"We've already talked about it, baby. I can't just quit my job."
You let out a sigh and nod.
"I know. Sorry for bringing it up."

It was actually nice having Villanelle around. Forgetting for a second that she was an assassin, you could picture the two of you living a normal life. One could only hope for such things.
The two of you were in the process of making dinner when Villanelle got a call from an unknown number. You tried getting her to not respond as you knew it would mean that she would have to go but she just gently brushed you off and went out to answer the call. This was 10 minutes ago and she still hadn't come back.
As you finished cooking the food, you headed out the back to check on Villanelle. There was no sign of her so you went back inside, thinking that she had probably gone upstairs to get something.
"Villanelle?"
You heart starts to beat quicker as every kind of terrible scenario comes to your mind that could have happened to her. She was part of a group that constantly threatened her life and it was one of your biggest fears that she wouldn't be able to outsmart them again.
"Villanelle!!"
You reached your study, finding a simple letter addressed to you. You had thought it was from Villanelle's organization but your name was in her handwriting.
Darling,
You can blame Konstantin for the fact that I couldn't stay for dinner. I tried to reason with him to let me at least stay to eat with you but he refused, saying that the job was too important and that I needed to leave that second. I thought I was going to be able to at least say goodbye to you but it was going to hurt me having to tell you another goodbye. I know how much you hate when I leave for a mission so I thought I would just spare us all the pain of it. I promise to be back as soon as I finish. I love you and I promise that I'll bring you another gift that would top the dress and jewelry that I bought for you.
PS. As you're reading this letter, know that I'm annoying Konstantin for ruining our day.

You sighed as you read through the letter 2 more times. At least you knew that she was safe but it still sucked that the two of you didn't have any dinner. If only you couldn't texted or called her but it was too dangerous for either of you to contact one another and leave a paper trail. Both of your agencies wanted either of you dead.
