Summary: She's scared
Prompt by: odd_ball14
Katie had woken up earlier than you. Seeing you asleep in her arms made her smile. You just seemed so relaxed and she didn't want to disturb you. She gently stood up and let you lay down on the couch, covering you with a blanket that she had found. Knowing that you were probably going to get a headache, she went in search of some pills as well as some water. Melissa was nowhere to be found so she had searched the entire place until she came across the pills.
She was just about to get some water from the fridge when she received a text message. Normally, she would ignore it but it was the particular notification sound that she had sent for her best friend. Taking out her phone, she quickly read what had been sent.
'Oh my god, Katie. Tell me that this isn't true.'
(Attached is a picture of her holding you while you were asleep)
'You know better than that. You got your heartbroken because you insisted that you were going to change that idiot. As your best friend, it is my duty to tell you to run. Don't let yourself get attached or you'll get hurt'
(Attached is links to articles about all the women that you had apparently broken their hearts)
Katie didn't bother to reply as she hurried up to leave the pills and water beside you. Her friend was right, she had gotten her heartbroken by thinking she could change. But then again, you did tell her that it was all fake. Created by the paparazzi to drive people to read their articles. It could have all been a lie as you had been drunk. Not wanting to wait around for you to wake up, she left.

You groaned loudly at the pounding on your head. It was absolutely terrible and it made you want to swear off of any other alcohol. Needing something for the pain, you slowly stood up, only to find that someone had left you some pills and water. You looked around to see who it had been only to find the place empty. Drinking some of the water helped with the pain, allowing you to remember what had happened last night.
As disappointed at you were, you weren't surprised to find that Katie had left without telling you. You had assumed things had cleared up between us but you were wrong. Assuming it was Katie the one that had left you the pills, she was giving you some mixed signals. Did she still hate you?
Melissa finally makes her way downstairs, finding that you were already woken up.
"Breakfast?"
She mumbles, knowing that neither of you were going to be able to cook something. You just slowly nod, standing up and making your way to your bedroom.
"Hey, why the frown? What happened?"
You would always cheer up over getting pancakes in the morning and when she noticed you looking upset, she knew something had happened.
"It's nothing."
You mumbled while trying to make your way through her.
"It's not nothing. Come on. I'm your best friend."
You sigh and lean against the wall while looking down at the floor.
"I really thought me and Katie had a moment last night but she just left without a note or anything. I was dumb to think that she was going to change her mind about me."
"Hey, don't say that. Katie is different. She's sweet. I'm sure she was in a hurry."
You nodded and gave her a smile.
"Maybe. You could be right."
"I know I'm right. Now go get dressed. I'm starving."
