Everyone is in deep chaos. Reporters, cameramen, and police officers are having a riot at one of the most exclusive hospitals in Seoul.
"Someone just crashed into our father's car. And that man is now dead. Don't you think that it's a little odd?"
Hoseok looked at his brothers with piercing eyes. But they didn't mind him.
It hasn't been an hour since their father was reported to be involved in a car accident. And the policemen are still investigating whether it was an accident or not.
"He's Duho Sin, Hobi. You shouldn't worry yourself too much. He has survived worst things than this." Yoongi retorted, drinking his whiskey in one go.
Their father is the King of Seoul. And their whole family is royalty. Their dynasty has started for centuries, and yet, no one was good enough to replace them.
Not to mention their reign in the underworld. Also one of the main reasons why a lot of people wants to kill them.
"I'm not worried. I'm just—" he paused, trying to figure out the right word. "frustrated, I guess."
Taehyung stopped typing on his laptop and stared at Hobi from head to toe.
"Clearly you're just tired. You just landed from a 14-hour flight for Christ's sake."
Taking his brother's words, Hoseok decided to have a rest. He lays himself on a long couch then shuts his eyes.
Yoongi poured himself another glass of whiskey as he turns to Taehyung. "where's Namjoon?"
The youngest was focused on typing on his laptop as he answered his hyung. "He's on his way."
Moments later, the door suddenly opened making the three of them snap their heads to the newcomer. It was their cousin/family doctor—Jisoo Sin.
"So is he dead?" Yoongi nonchalantly asked.
Jisoo gave him a fake smile. "Sadly, no."
They watched as she removes her stethoscope on her neck and heavy a sigh.
"He's in a coma. He lost a lot of blood and damaged a few bones. He's alive but I don't really think that he'll last long."
This made Hoseok sit up. "So he's dying?"
Their cousin shrugged. "Depends. If he doesn't wake up in a matter of weeks, then we shall know."
Hoseok tilts his head. "What is that suppose to mean?"
"Uncle Duho's death is still unpredictable. Because base on his condition right now, he should've been dead." she sat on a chair and caressed her temple. Frustration was all over her face.
"But he's still trying to fight. Isn't he?" Taehyung blurts out with a stilled gaze.
Jisoo pressed her lips together and could only nod.
All of them became silent after this.
Yoongi stood beside the glass window and watched the night view of Seoul. The rush of car lights, the street lamps of the city, tall buildings, and more.
He sighed unknowingly.
Now that their father is in a coma, everything would be put upon his shoulders.
Another responsibility was yet again forced on him.
"Has your sister contacted you yet?"
The three of them froze from Jisoo's sudden question. Making the girl scoff.
"Seriously? And you're not even doing anything about it?"
Hoseok raised his shoulders in a half shrug. "Well, what do you want us to do? We don't have her location nor her number."
"Then I guess you should've thought about that before you sent her to God knows where!"
All of them blinked several times by the sharpness in her voice. Shocked.
Jisoo bit her lower lip and slowly looked down at her lap. "I'm sorry," her voice almost cracked.
"I just miss her so much."
Yoongi patted her head with a sad smile. "We miss her too." so much.
The atmosphere in the room slowly became gloomy.
Five years. It's been five years since they last saw their sister. But her last memory with them was still fresh in their minds to remember.
Her last goodbye. Her tight embrace. Her sad smile. And lastly, her beautiful doll-like eyes.
She never wanted to leave. It was actually her brothers that forced her to leave. Just for her own sake.
Taehyung shuts his laptop before adjusting his glasses with his finger. "She'll come back."
Hoseok clasped his hands together. "How can you be so sure about that?"
"It's not that easy to leave, Hobi." Yoongi argued. "We need to give her some time."
"Yoongi's right." Jisoo agreed. "Although I do think that it's better if she won't come back in the meantime."
"Why is that?" Taehyung questioned.
"Your father's accident is not coincidental. Someone is planning to target our family. And it'll be much safer for her if she stays hidden." she replied.
Yoongi placed his glass down and held his chin. "We'll start finding whoever that bastard is."
The young woman stood up from her seat then glanced at her wristwatch. "Then I guess I gotta go. Uncle Duho will be transferred here for a few minutes. And if you need anything, you can just go to my office or call some nurse to assist you." she patted Yoongi's cheek with a tight-lipped smile before heading outside the door. Not even waiting for their reply.
"Geez, what a moody woman." Hoseok mumbles under his breath before laying down again on the couch.
"So we'll just wait for her then?" Taehyung asked Yoongi.
His hyung sighed for the ninth time. "I don't think that we have any other choice."
It took Hoseok a few minutes to gather up his courage to ask this.
"She's been gone for five years. Do you think that she'll come back for this f*cked up family and leave her normal life behind?"
Yoongi and Taehyung's gazes met.
She'll come back... She has to.
