"I don't want to..." Anya whined.
"You have to... We had a deal! You're going to like it!" Timothée laughed, he was sure that she wasn't actually going to like it. Seeing her struggling would be fun for him though.
"Good morning my talented students!" the teacher walked in the amphitheater, and everybody greeted her. Timothée raised his hand, she immediately noticed him, and nodded at him.
"There's a student who wants to join our team!" he said.
"Oh, that's lovely! Where are you darling?" she looked at everyone. "Oh there you are, you'll follow me to the principal's office after class, and we'll officialy add you to our team!" the elder woman looked at Anya who still couldn't believe she was in there.
"I'm Mrs Barnes by the way! What's your name love?"
"Anya.." the girl responded and gave an angry look to her fake boyfriend.
"Okay, so I have to let you know that every year we put on a big show. We'll present an original play this year! I want everyone to give it all you got!" Mrs Barnes spoke loudly, the pupils nodded.
"Really???" Anya whispered annoyed at Timothée.
"Yep, you'll do great!" he sarcastically whispered back.
"I need to make sure I get to play a tree or a bush, so I only have to sway my body in the wind." she rolled her eyes. The door opened and the Kiara girl walked in. Of course she had to be in the theatrical team.
"Sorry I'm late! I was showing a new student around!" she excused herself.
"It's okay, you can join your classmates." the teacher said.
Anya was annoyed by her presence. She had no reason to dislike her, but she hated coming second. Kiara was probably a great actress, and she, herself, was a girl that couldn't even hide her disgust and annoyance.
The only positive thing was that Kiara was the motivation she needed to nail her acting. She wasn't planning on letting her get the leading role... She deserved to become the protagonist and prove to Timothée that Kiara was not as good as he thought she was.
"Let me give you the script of the play, and we'll start reading some of the dialogues!" the teacher handed her the notepad.
"Everyone's already ahead of you, but I'm sure you'll do fine! You can ask for my help anytime, and we'll do a little practice on your expression, or anything that needs correction." Mrs Barnes spoke to Anya."Thank you!" the queen bee smiled at her.
"So, take a sit everyone and go to page 24!"
The students started reading out loud the lines Mrs Barnes wanted each of them to read, until it was time for Timothée to read.
"I can't believe you're letting this happen Rosa.. I'm so close to you, I'm literally standing next to you my whole life.. and all you do is run away by yourself. You're such a coward, do you hear me..? You're a coward who prefers to burry her feelings 6 feet under the ground and let the daughter of the apothecary find a shelter in my arms. The arms of the man who only loved once, the man who only loves you." Timothée read with emotion.
"Great!!!! Kiara your turn!" the teacher said in excitement.
"I am not a coward... You have no idea how much strength it takes to just walk away.. How strong you have to be to burry your love... Do you think it's easy for a girl in a dress to turn into a warrior overnight? It's far from easy, but I have no choice. I have to take an invisible sword in my hands and fight my feelings, I have to forget I'm a woman in love." Kiara read and Timothée looked at her impressed.
"Gregg go!" Mrs Barnes shouted.
"So.. Are you leaving everything behind...? Just like that? I never thought the day you'd say all of those words to me would come. Not now, nor never... We were supposed to walk together through eternity, remember?" the guy read.
"Anya, give it a try!" the teacher exclaimed and everyone looked at the newbie.
"Eternity is a dangerous word... And I've had enough of daring adventures. I need to feel the ground underneath my feet, I need to stop hoping we'll fly away one day. It can't happen.. it won't happen. We both know it. I just wish I had figured that out earlier. My heart is full of wounds, wounds you cannot heal. You would have to rip my heart off of my skin to treat it, but that would kill me.. Goodbye Henry.." Anya read almost perfectly. She could feel Timothée's eyes on her, the only thing she wanted was to impress him.
"That was actually very good!!! I'm sure you'll do it perfectly with a little more practice!" Mrs Barnes spoke to Anya and she smiled at her teacher.
"That was good theater pal!" Timothée whispered to her in surprise.
"Thank you!" the girl sarcastically smiled.
"Perhaps I could help you practice sometime!" he offered.
"Sounds good!" she smiled at him and noticed Kiara who was staring at them.
When the class was over she made sure to follow Mrs Barnes to the principal's office, she was excited to officialy become a member of the theatrical team. She already wanted so badly to get the leading role, she didn't even really care if her popular friends would find out and make fun of her.
"Thank you Mrs Barnes, your class seems lovely! I'm happy to be a part of it!" Anya said and the teacher smiled with kindness. She was the first teacher ever Anya kind of liked. And Mrs Barnes was probably the only teacher at school who didn't think of her as a rich, spoiled child.
The girl left the office and walked down the hallway, that's when she noticed the curly haired boy standing by his locker."Thank you for making me join the theatrical team! I'm so excited!" she approached him.
He looked behind him only to find the queen bee saying something he never thought she'd say."Really? You like it?" he asked.
"Yes, Mrs Barnes is so kind... And I want to improve!"
Timothée was indeed impressed by the way she had accepted it. Seeing her admitting she had fun back in the amphitheater was a new experience for him. She was quite charming.
