Prompt: Ashton comes out to management and things go awry (ScaredSackless)

Ashton swallowed thickly and fiddled with the rings on his fingers, not daring to meet eyes with anyone. Sweat beaded on his forehead and he grumbled, wiping it quickly before he cast his eyes out the windows, trying to stay calm. 

Today was going to be...interesting. 

After breaking down at 3am last night and coming to the realization that he could no longer keep his sexuality a secret, Ashton decided to come out to management and his band. 

He didn't know how things were expected to go, so he tried to remain positive. It was hard, considering how lowly Ashton thought of himself already. Ashton sighed and watched the glass fog up slightly, jerking forward as the van came to a halt. 

He filed out with Michael, Calum and Luke in tow, tensing when he felt Calum's hand on his shoulder. He nervously laughed it off and Calum did as well, slight concern etched onto his face. 

"You alright ash?" 

"Y-yea" 

Ashton nodded and fell a few steps ahead of the kiwi, filing into the building. 

The only thing worse than being gay, well, was the fact that he sorta loved Calum. Ashton had always been fond of him, and recently, his feelings were getting more out of control, part of which forced him to come out. 

Between the time it took them to walk from the lobby to the meeting room, Ashton had managed to calm himself enough, however the second they stepped inside, he pivoted in an attempt to escape, walking straight into Calum. 

"Ah, shit, s-Sorry" 

"Ash....are you ok?" 

"I-I'm fine" 

Ashton mumbled and sulked back into the room, seating himself beside Calum. The meeting was a blur, but before they were about to leave, Ashton cleated his throat and took a shaky breath. 

"Um...i-i hope this doesn't change a-anything...b-but-what I w-w-wanna-i" 

Ashton's voice trembled as tears began pooling out of his eyes, his throat tightening. Ashton was struggling to breathe, and as roughly wiped his eyes, he felt Calum's hand squeeze his thigh, and through blurry eyes, he made out the faintest smile on the others lips. 

"I-I'm gay" 

"That's unacceptable" 

Ashton's head snapped up, eyes widened with fear as he saw the disgusted looks on Johns face, their other managers shaking their heads. 

"W-what?" 

"Please, that's disgusting and unacceptable. Imagine finding out your gay, the fans would hate you, we'd have no purpose for you. You're only here because they think they have a chance with you, and they can't have that if you're gay" 

"B-but-" 

"No buts Ashton, you're out of the band, unless you can play straight" 

"But t-that's not me! I'm not straig-" 

"Sorry Ashton" 

Ashton ran. 

He didn't look back once an ran as far as he could, lungs burning and vision blurred. His heart shattered into a million pieces as the conversation echoed throughout his head, horrible sobs racking his body.
