'A memory potion!?' I yell, feeling warm tears streaming down my cheeks.

'I'm sorry, Edge. We tried to do everything we could to stop it, but Ben and Frank manipulated the council-'

'They wouldn't do that!' I yell, pushing Arran away so he falls to the floor. While helping Arran up, Gabriel says; 'They did, Edge. After Nathan exposed his magic to you when you were seven, your dad prohibited Nathan from ever seeing you again because he broke their contract... the original one.'

'No! You're lying! You're all lying!' I cry, shaking my head, stepping back from all the shocked faces staring me. Daisy and Dean are standing sheltered behind David and Deborah, their eyes brimming with tears. I'm sure it's way past Dean's bedtime by now.

'It's the truth, Edge. I'm sure your dad did it because he thought it was the right thing to do. He meant well, but he took it too far-'

'He didn't do this! You just keep lying to me!'

'If your dad isn't behind this, then who is?' Deborah asks, her smile long gone.

'I don't know! You maybe?'

'Me? Edge, Nathan and all of his family have only ever wanted to be a part of your life. Your parents didn't want that, because they wanted to keep you for themself. They did everything they could for the council to make those contracts.'

'Mom and dad didn't want Nathan in my life because he's a psychopathic serial killer, and I'm very, very, grateful for it!'

Deborah sighs and looks over at Gabriel, sending a silent plea for help.

'Edge, look at me,' Gabriel comes closer, and for every step he takes towards me, I take one away from him, 'I know this upsets you, but if we're going to talk through it, you'll need to calm down first.'

'Hah! Talk through what? More lies? I don't want to listen to you! I want to go home! Right now!' Gabriel has me cornered against the wall, and when he touches my shoulder, I hit him as hard as I can. 'I don't care if I die! I'm not going back to the Phrontistery, and I'm not taking more blood from strangers! This is sick! You're all sick! Fuck you, you stupid, ugly, witch! Fuck you, Gabriel, I hate you!
