Chapter 18 : "Daisy & Jay."

I was awakened by a soft touch on my cheeks. I slowly open my eyes and I saw Kuya Ivan smiling at me. What's with him today that he looks younger? Maybe it's because of his smile? I don't really know.

"Good morning sleepyhead." He kisses my hair and he's still smiling like an idiot. Well, a handsome idiot.

"What's with you today kuya? Ngiting-ngiti ka naman yata?"

He raised an eyebrow. "You don't know what date it is today?"

I creases my forehead, thinking. Ano bang meron ngayon?

"I don't know.. Ano bang meron ngayon?"

He roll his eyes then he get up on the bed and walk towards my door and he opens it.

Umupo ako sa kama at nagtatakang tinignan siya. Pagkabukas ni kuya ng pinto ay pumasok si lolo at lola. Lolo is wearing a cute yellow party hat while on the other hand, lola is holding a cake.

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you."

I look at them with teary eyes. Oh my goodness! Bakit nalimutan 'kong birthday 'ko ngayon? Am I that stress and problematic this week to forget about my birthday? Oh my God!

I burst into tears when lolo kisses my hair and lola hugs me.

"Nako ikaw na bata ka talaga. Paano mo nalimutan ang birthday mo huh?" Ginulo ni lola ang buhok 'ko.

"Thank you lola, lolo at kuya." I said, sniffling. Why they have to be so sweet?

I suddenly miss my dad. Palagi kasi siyang excited tuwing birthday 'ko. Ngayon lang ako nag-birthday na may samaan kami ng loob kaya hindi 'ko magawang maging sobrang saya ngayon dahil iniisip 'ko siya.

"Alright! Itigil na muna ang kadramahan. Blow your candles now Meadow." I roll my eyes at kuya. Bakit ba palagi siyang panira ng moment?

Inilapit sa akin ni lola ang cake. I closed my eyes with a smile on my face. Please keep dada safe. I love him so much. Just keep him safe. I open my eyes and I blow the candles.

"I love you, la. I love you, lo. I love you, kuya." I hugged them one by one. They made me so happy this morning.

"Apo nandyan ang mga regalo namin sayo sa gilid ng cabinet. Bumaba ka na pagkatapos mong mag-ayos at may pasok ka pa ngayon hindi ba?"

I nod at lolo then I dip my index finger on my chocolate cake to taste it. Lumabas na si lolo at lola si kuya na lang ang naiwan dito sa kwarto 'ko. Pinadala 'ko na rin muna kay lola 'yung cake kasi ayaw 'ko namang dito sa kwarto 'ko iyon kainin.

"You're seventeen now.." He looks sad right now. I wrapped my arms on his hips and I rest the side of cheek on his chest.

"Yes.. Please don't be sad." He plays with the strand of my hair.

"I just can't believe you're seventeen now." Inangat 'ko ang mukha 'ko at nginitian siya.

"Where's my grouchy uncle? And what did you do to him?"

He gave me a scowl.

Kinalas 'ko na ang braso 'ko sa kaniya.

"Nasan ang gift mo sa'kin kuya?"

He roll his eyes. "Iyon o. The red one. Labas na ako. Bumaba ka na rin pagkatapos mong buksan mga regalo mo. Hindi mo naman siguro gustong ma-late."
