"And what makes you think I'll be willing to help?" He crossed his arms, his look nonchalant.

"I--" I looked for a way to convince him. But what's more convincing than trying to save someone's dad?

I wanted to say more, but all words got rammed in my throat when I noticed a dark figure at the corner of my vision. I focused on it but the image immediately disappeared.

I could've sworn something was there.

"What are you looking at?" Eros turned quizzically to the empty space between his desk and the wall.

"I...nothing."

Eros rose an eyebrow, clearly not believing me. That moment a loud thunder rang out, faintly shaking the building.

"And there goes Zion," he muttered to himself.

I ignored it and went back to our original conversation. "Why won't you help? Do you want a bargain or something?"

He pursed his lips. "And who says I need a bargain?"

"You're not answering any of my questions." I retorted, trying to reign back my pent-up emotions.

The dark figure seemed to have reappeared. I focused on it but it vanished just like before. Every time I concentrated on something else, it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Something feels wrong and Eros hasn't noticed a thing.

I turned to him. "So are you going to help?"

Eros sighed before dropping lazily on the sofa, his limbs stretched out comfortably. "It depends."
