"Why will you think I have a beloved?" Liam said after a moment of silence.
I shifted under his gaze, never missing how his hands fisted on the wall beside me. His puzzlement had morphed into complete curiosity.
Why does it feel so hot in here?
I contemplated about it, trying to put it simply. "All gods have beloveds."
His eyes widened for a mere fraction, emotions scuttled through, too fast to pinpoint. He shut his eyes, barring out his thoughts before slowly laying his forehead against mine. He released a sigh. "And what if it's you?"
I stilled, feeling my skin tingle at his statement. Something warm flowered from within, betraying the idea that those words didn't repulse me. Him being my beloved wasn't a bad idea, right?
"Please answer me," He whispered, dipping his head so his lips brushed down my neck. He hesitated as if silently asking permission.
The pause made me lean unconsciously towards him. I groaned when he planted a kiss on my pulse. A liquifying sting rushed to my toes. My hands latched to the nape of his neck.
What was his question again?

"It won't be such a bad idea." I found myself blurting out. My breath came in short pants.
Liam paused for a moment, absorbing my words. He made a subtle nod before speaking. "Not all gods have beloveds." He straightened up to meet my gaze. "Only a few don't. But I did say I'm part-god."
