Mike knocked, before entering Coulson's office. The man looked at him, as a sign that he could come in.
"Of all the high-tech gadgets and gismos of our suposal, it's easy to forget about the simple tools of the past. What can I do for you?"
He was playing with some business cards, like the ones sales people always give to people.
"I was just wondering about what you want me to do," Mike asked. "Where you need me."
"Here. On the plane."
"But... Shouldn't I be out in the field? I mean... That's why you've brought me here, right?"
"You'll get your chance," Coulson replied. "Right now, I need you to go down to the lab for some tests."
Mike made a face.
"I'm stable. They already tested me at Ci-ops."
"I also know that using your powers takes a tool," Coulson responded. "I need to understand your limits. For your sake, as well for my team's."
Mike nodded.
"But sir... I still have one question. What's it with agent Sanchez? What's her job here? She doesn't seem like your personal negotiater to me."
Coulson grinned. "If you want an answer on that question, you should ask it herself."

"I have to put away four times of what I used to. Just to keep my energy up."
"Oh... And after you use your strength?"
"Maybe... Ten times? Then I usually crash afterwards. It's really hard on my body."
Simmons was running some tests on mike in the lab.
"Hard. Body. Correct."
"You know we have equipment that can take measurements, no need to do it manually?" Fitz said.
"Oh, my mistake," Simmons laughed. "Not the matter, I'll send the numbers to you straight away."
"I need measurements to build your diagnostic suit, so we can monitor your vitals in the field," Fitz told Mike. He nodded.
"As for fabrics, how does a polumur blend, with ten layers of threated composed materials sound?"
"Sounds... Great?"
"Yeah. It does, doesn't it?"
Fitz' eye fell on Mike his left arm.
"I'm sorry. Sorry. ehm... I was just looking at-"
"Oh. No, it's okay. I'm used to it. They tried to take it off of me at the sci-ops facility. Realized they couldn't do it without killing me."
"I'm afraid we're terribly curious. How did they stabilize the Extremis in you?" Simmons asked abruptly.
" And keep you from exploding?"
"Yeah," Simmons said.
"Oh, that wasn't them. That was you two."
"Come again?"
"What's that?"
" Your gun," Mike continued. " It somehow froze me right at the moment I was about to explode., helped my body absorb the serum, stabilize. Your weapon saved my life."
"Well..." Simmons scoffed.
"All that, and it didn't leave a scar, so-"
"Well, I-"
"Well, I should think not," Fitz said.
"Yeah, we couldn't have that, could we? It would be a shame if, especially if you're so, well, formed and symmetrical."
Simmons stopped talking, when she realised that Fitz had stopped talking.
"Wh-when did you stop talking?" She asked.
"About three embarrassing sentences ago," a voice said before Fitz could even give a answer.
Sanchez came into the lab, with a face like thunder. Fitzsimmons gave eachother a quick look, aware of what could happen.
"Agent Simmons, can you give me the... How do we say this again... 'scientific description' of Mr. Peterson his abillities?" She asked.
"Indeed," she replied hoarsely. "Mr. Peterson is able to have superhuman strength, due to the centipede project."
"Thank you, Simmons," she replied, while looking at her clipboard.
Simmons didn't knew how fast she could get out of the lab. She grabbed Fitz by his arm, and left through the backside, leaving Sanchez alone with Mike.
"So... 'Mike," Sanchez said. "I heard you were curious about my job here at the plane."
"Agent Coulson said I should ask you myself."
"I know he did. I also know that you haven't had any contact with your boy in a long time. I know that you're doing a lot of work outs at your SHIELD facility, and that you're hoping to beat Captain America his old times. And boy, you should know what else I'm aware of."
Mike froze. He had not expect this to happen.
"But back to business. 'specialist of the supernatural.' Does that say anything to you?"
"No ma'am," he replied. "Not at all."
"That's a shame. Really. But to refresh your mind; I'm specialised in everything alien, everything what isn't human, everything what is not from this earth, and gifted people, like you. Which means, if something's wrong with your powers, I'll know. If you're not behaving like you should, I'll know. If you're up with something, I'll know. If you're of more capable then the others know... I will know. Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes, you did," Mike replied.
"Good. Very good."
She dropped the clipboard on the table, and left Mike behind in the lab.
"Is she gone?" Simmons asked, while looking around the corner.
"I... I think she is," Mike said.
"Good lord. It was getting time."
Fitz and Simmons ran both back into the lab, back behind their scientiffic stuff.
"Ehm... Have I seen this wrong, or are you both-"
"Scared of agent Sanchez? Absolutely not," Fitz said.
"Not in the slightest way," Simmons replied.
"That worse, hm?" Mike asked.
"Oh yes."
"You've no idea," Simmons said. Both of them stopped with what they were doing, and bowed across the table to Mike.
"She curses like a sailor, all the time," Fitz said. "It's intimidating."
"She always looks so grumpy, and no one knows why exactly."
"She's been at the battle of New York, but refuses to talk about it."
"She speaks a lot of languages. A lot."
"She is able to use Latin spells. Latin!" Simmons yelled softly.
"We're still not sure-"
"If she's more worse then May," Fitz said.
"That sounds... Complicated," Mike replied.
"Yep. Hell it does," Fitz answered.
