The Blitz

Ava

I left David's house and took a taxi to The Blitz. I reached in about thirty minutes. The whole ride I was thinking about the interview. I was looking forward to it and very excited. I paid the taxi driver and got down.

As soon as I entered the high-rise building. I felt a rush of excitement within me. I have been to many interviews earlier but this is something else. This was my first time in such a big company.

Then my mind was lost in thoughts if I can crack this interview. If I get this job, it will be the door to many opportunities. The Blitz was one of the renowned countries in the country. It is headed by Richard Smith. At a very young age, he took over the business after his father retired early.

I was feeling a mix of emotions. I may not be as qualified as others but I was hardworking and determined towards it. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Let's do this. With my head up and chin high, I marched up to the front desk.

"How can I help you miss?"
The receptionist asked me.

"I am Ava Johnson and I have an interview here today."

"Just a second, Let me check."
Just as the receptionist start tyo8ng on her computer, a young man in his 30's approached us.

"There is no need for that Rosie, I will take over. Miss Ava, this way please." I followed the guy. I couldn't help but I was amused by the magnificent structure of the building. I get in the lift with the man and looked around tapping my feet. I have never been to a place like this.

I was hoping and praying hard to get this interview or else I will have to find something else as soon as I can because now that I am living with David. I have to pay him rent. He will not take it but that doesn't mean I will take advantage of him like that without paying him.

"Please have a seat, Ava."
The guy took me to inside a room. The nameplate said, Chris Brown. I get in and take a seat in front of him and look around. My feet were already shaking and my palms were sweaty due to nervousness.

He takes a glance and turns some pages of my file. I looked around and after a while, he spoke.

"I already looked at your resume and I think you are capable enough to do the job of being the personal secretary to Mr. Smith."

What! No, no, no. My ears were ringing. I couldn't believe my ears. This has to be a dream. How can I be offered a higher position than I have applied for? I am not even that qualified for the position. So I asked him again to confirm. Maybe I understood it wrong.
