I woke up with the sun shining in and I saw Derek was asleep, his head on my shoulder.

I gently ran one hand up and down his back while I stared at him.

Derek slowly woke up and kissed my lips, barely awake.

"Morning," I whispered.

He kissed me again. "Morning, how did you sleep?"

"Better," I softly smiled.

"You're sure?" He asked, kissing my collarbone.

"Mm-hmm," I hummed as he slowly trailed kisses up to my lips.

I slowly kissed him and he kissed me back, cupping my face.

I smiled and he kissed my cheek and sighed.

He slowly ran his hand up and down my arm and stared at me.

I glanced at him. "What?" I whispered.

"I was just thinking," he softly whispered.

"About?"

He slowly sighed and got up, grabbing something out of the side table.

He sat back down on the bed and handed it to me.

It was a key.

"What is this to?" I asked, taking it.

"It's to a safe deposit box."

I looked at him.

"It has my will-"

"I don't-"

"We have-"

"Nothing's going to happen."

We argued. I wouldn't think about it, I couldn't.

He pursed his lips.

"Elizabeth," he said firmly, his eyes conveying his concern. "I need to make sure, if anything does happen, you know that you and the kids are okay. My will is there, along with some family heirlooms, I have investments that are for the kids set up-"

"Derek," I stopped him, placing a hand on his chest. "Please, I can't talk about this... it's hard enough," I swallowed the burning lump in my throat.

He gently placed a hand on my knee. "I need you to know... if you find someone else-"

I snapped my eyes to his at his words.

"It's okay," he finished, breaking the stare first.

"No," I said firmly.

"But if you do-"

"I won't," I kept my firm tone and clenched the sheets in my fists.

He gently rested his hand over mine and I relaxed.
"I won't," I repeated, softer, tears forming in my eyes at the thought. I couldn't think of anyone to replace him. I've already tried forgetting him and I never could. I didn't care if death took him away, I would still one day hope he'd walk through the doors again.

I felt his thumb gently caress my cheek and I looked up at him.

His eyes studied mine, waiting for me to go back on my words.

I slowly kissed him, cupping his face, running my hands through his hair at the base of his neck.

He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer, onto his lap.

I slowly pulled away, leaving one more soft kiss on his lips.

He rubbed his thumbs on my shoulder blades and I slowly caressed his bruise on his chin.
