Chapter 28

The door opened of the room Xueer and Yu Yan are in, Revealing An Qi with Yuxin behind her.

Xueer immediately showed a smile at the shortest and was surprised when the other smiled back.

"An Qi, You're finally back."

Yu Yan greeted.

"Ah yeah. Sorry for disappearing the whole week."

An Qi apologizes and went to her usual seat in the council room.

"An Qi, Can we talk?"

That's what Xueer said to An Qi as they faced each other.

"Sure."

The short girl agreed. Yu Yan and Yuxin took it as a cue for them to leave the two girls alone.

"I'm sorry."

Xueer started.

"You don't need to. Me and Yuxin already talked about it anyways."

An Qi answered with a smile.

"Don't worry. There's really nothing going on between us anymore."

Xueer explained.

"I know that from the very start. I'm just disappointed that you two kept it as a secret from me. I've never been mad the whole time."

An Qi remarked that made Xueer's mood brighten.

"Are you sure? Then why didn't you answer my calls?"

Xueer asked.

"I also need some time to think, Duh?"

An Qi answered. Xueer nodded in response.

"By the way, Me and Yuxin already made an agreement."

An Qi spoke up once again.

"Agreement? What is it?"

Xueer curiously asked.

"We'll be taking a break. I know she's still confused with her feelings so I thought she needs a little break."

An Qi answered. Xueer's heart broke for her friend, She thought it's all her fault.

"But that isn't really necessary. We all know she's so inlove with you."

Xueer said.

"We're not sure with what she really feels."

An Qi showed a sad smile.

"Don't worry. I'll talk to her."

Xueer held her friends hand and showed her a reassuring smile.

"Hey. Why did you call me here?"

Jiaqi asked as Yu Yan arrived beside her.

"Nothing. Just wanna check up on you."

Yu Yan replied.

Jiaqi blushed a bit as the younger said those. A small smile curled up on her face as she realized how her childhood friend cares so much for her.

"Still in bad terms with Xueer?"

Yu Yan asked that made Jiaqi's smile fade.

"Yeah, Sadly."

Jiaqi answered.

"You're totally into her."

Yu Yan whispered and lucky for her, Jiaqi didn't hear.

"What? I didn't catch it."

Jiaqi said.

"Oh it's nothing. I said you should talk to her."

Yu Yan said, Jiaqi shook her head.

"She won't listen to me anyways."

Jiaqi hung her head low.

"You told me it wasn't you who told An Qi, Right? Why don't you defend yourself then?"

Jiaqi didn't answer Yu Yan. Instead, She started thinking why, Why is she so coward? Why can't she defend herself? Why does she let other people blame her for something she didn't do?

"I see. You're still affected by the past, aren't you?"

Yu Yan's words made the older flinch.

"Sorry for bringing that up. Anyways, I should go and you, Explain your side while it's not yet too late."

And Yu Yan left Jiaqi alone.

"Even if I try explaining, No one would believe me anyways."

Jiaqi mumbled to herself.
