it was scary, i must admit, coming from England to Concord was a big change for me. "come on darling, you will love it here i assure you," the older man said to me, Mr Laurence knew my father, he offered to take me in for this year while him and mother travelled for their work.
"i don't really know about that," i said under my breath, he looked at
me with a sad smile. i didn't want
to leave my home in England, to leave
my school, my friends, i had no one now.

"please, i'll get a maid to take your things to your room," he said taking my chests from the carriage and walking into the house. "just follow my way miss," the girl, i'm assuming the maid due to her attire, said as she began to walk up the great stair case. i followed in silence admiring the decor of the home, we settled in a
large room with a great balcony.
it reminded me just of home.
i liked it, i liked it a lot.

i fell back onto the bed and took in my new surroundings. it was only a year i told myself, then i'd be home, id get my life back. "Blair, are you in there?" i heard Mr Laurence say, "yes sir," i replied, he entered however not alone. a boy with dark curls and sculpted features followed closely, his hands rested behind his back and his eyes were glued to the floor.
"this is my grandson Theodore," he said ushering the boy forward. i stood and walked to shake his hand. "Blair," i said with a small nob. "Theodore," he said about, "but most call me Laurie," he added proudly. i nodded. "i like Teddy," i said and he smiled, "i like it too," he said before Mr Laurence coughed interrupting our greeting.

"Theodore, how about you introduce Blair to the March girls?" Mr Laurence said, Laurie shrugged and held
out his hand for me to take. i looked at it and rolled my eyes, he really thought he was a charmer, he doesn't know i've
already seen all these tricks back in England. i smiled to Mr Laurence, walked out of the room leaving the two looking confused. "come along then i have no clue where i'm walking," i said making the boy rush to me.

"are you liking it so far?" Laurie smiled as we walked along a path of grass, "it's okay i guess," i shrugged, he nodded.
"i like your accent," he said as we neared a black house, "thank you, i like yours too Teddy," i said, i saw his cheeks blush slightly. he knocked on the door and we waited for it to be answered. soon a blonde girl answered, "Laurie, you're here," she said pulling him to embrace.
"this is Blair, she's staying with us for a while as her parents travel for work," he said gesturing you me. i smiled, "Amy," she said with a smile. "nice to meet you Amy," i said, her mouth fell agape.
"you're English? oh my that's just my favourite accent i'm this world," i giggled slightly before Laurie took my arm in his and walked us into the home.

"everyone this is Blair, she's English," Amy said to the people in the room, "nice to meet you Blair, Jo," a red headed girl said, we shook hands and she sat back down.

"i'm Meg, it's lovely to meet you Blair, i hope you enjoy your time here," the oldest looking out of the girls said, "it's lovely to meet you too Meg," i said back to the girl.
"this is Beth," Teddy said pointing to the girl with a shy smile. "it's nice to meet you Beth," i smiled before an older looking woman entered.

"you must be Lillian and Mark's girl," she said pulling me into a hug. "you know my parents?" i said with a shocked expression, "ah yes, Mr March and i actually attended their wedding," she said while smiling, i'm assuming reminiscing the moment. "gosh you do have your mothers eyes," she said smiling, "oh gosh i'm ever so sorry, please, call me Marmee, everyone else does around here," she said looking at Laurie who smiled proudly.

after spending hours getting to know
the girls Laurie and i decided
to venture back to his grandfathers home.
"so, tell me more about yourself," he said while looking to the great moon.
"i don't know what to tell you," i smiled shyly admiring the stars. "tell me
about your school, your life back in England, anything, anything at all," he said looking to me, i could feel his eyes searching my face. "school was good, i finished early due to my intelligence, i used to tutor people in need. i had
a great group of friends, i miss them,
my best friends Tessa, Nikki and Manon, my good friend Charles, well Charlie to me, they're the best. we have all known each other from birth,
they all basically lived at my home back in England. we were attached at the hip as my mother said," i smiled reminiscing,
Teddy frowned slightly.
"well, you have me now, i hope i can make
you smile as he does," he said leaning his
head onto my shoulder. i nodded,
"i think you might just fit the part,"
he looked at me with wide eyes.

i walked back to my room and fell back onto my bed. i looked to the blank ceiling and sighed. i knew this life was going to treat me well however i couldn't
help but miss home. i wanted
my mama and papa but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. i changed
to my silk nightgown and went out to the balcony. the cool breeze ran through my hair. i looked to the star lit sky and admired it beauty. "it's almost as beautiful as you," i heard from behind me, i turned around quickly in shock to see
Teddy. i looked at him in confusion.
"joint balcony," he said, i nodded, it's almost like he read my mind.

"why are you up?" i said looking at him, he shrugged, "can't sleep i guess," i nodded. "missing home?" he smiled weakly, i nodded. he moved closer to me and wrapped his arm around me, his
warm touch showed me at first, however
it grew comforting. i wondered if he
did this with all his friends.
"so, this Charlie. do you like him?" Teddy said looking down to me,
"of course i like him, he's my friend," i said with a small chuckle, he shook his
head with a cheeky smile.
"no no no, i mean like like him, well, do you have feelings for the boy?" he said, i shook my head quickly.
"no, i could never, he's almost like a brother," i smiled.
"have you got a boyfriend back home then?" he said shyly.
"well, nothing official, i guess i dated some guys, i've never had a boyfriend. there was is this one boy, however i don't really know him enough to make a real judgement, he's cute though," i said blushing. Teddy looked at me with a smile, "i think it's cute that you've never had a boyfriend," he wrapped his arm tighter. "so, do you have a girlfriend?" i smiled nervously, he looked uncomfortable . "it's complicated, nothing official," he said getting shy. "what's her name?" i said, his with his eyes moving slowly up and down my body. "Julia, she's a cousin of Sallie Moffat," he shrugged.
"so you like her?" i said with a small smile, i was so ready to set him up with
her, whoever she was.
"i do, i think, well i did, but all of
a sudden it's just became confusing. sorry, i shouldn't be putting this on you," he said, i shook my head.
"never, i'm always here for you Teddy," i said with a sincere smile.
