Mae's pov

I pushed Rafe out the way scoffing as I did so but my heartbeat was still racing. I went to pull the changing room door open when Rafe hand slammed it shut again. I pursed my lips together and flashed him a glare.

"Rafe, we are not missing this tutorial" I said and grabbed his wrist tryiing to pry it off the door. He gave me playful smirk and I just took a step back from him, I couldn't get wound up in his trance again.

"We still have 10 minutes M&M's, that is plenty of time to tell me the real reason you lied for us" he said a satisfied smile on his lips. I russled my wet hair and groaned.

"Rafe! I lied because you did! Why did you lie?" I countered frustrated with the persistent boy in front of me. I saw his smile falter as he tried to give me a quick counter but his mind couldn't conjure one.

"Mae, Principal Thorton doesn't need to know.. to know.. that we.. we" He started tripping over is words still finding it hard for himself to realize that he doesn't hate me after all.

"Kissed, Rafe. We kissed" I said and crossed my arms over my chest defensively. I watched as he bit his lip and ducked his head as if we was ashamed which made my blood boil.

"Are you ashamed of kissing me?" I asked quickly, snapping my eyebrows up. His face snapped back up to mine, his eyes wide and shook his head rapidly.

"Is that why you have been so harsh to me for the last week? You can't cope with the fact you kissed me and you liked it? Cause you did like it, I know you did. My back was against the freaking mirror and your fingers were tangled in my hair for goodness sake! Plus you kissed me first which meant you had to imagine kissing me before actually doing it so.." I rambled at him before ending with my hands on my hips. I starred at his speechless state, lips parted and fingers running back through his hair. That was all I really needed to know it was true.

"You know what, I'll just see you tonight." I said before once again going to storm out of the room. His hand fell of the door and onto my shoulder whilst the other glided onto my cheek stopping me in my tracks.

I sucked in a breath as he starred at me softly his thumb running back and forth across my cheek. I diverted m gaze to the wall but flicked it back to his face only seconds later. I couldn't resist the urge to watch his eyes rake over my own face.

"Rafe... you can't kiss me and then ignore me again. Unless you're ready for that, let me go and stop being such a jerk while you're at it" I said not in the mood for anymore of his silly games which toyed with my heart. I grabbed his wrist pulling his hand off my face and scooting past him before whizzing out of the changing room.

The tutorial was silent, sitting two seats apart and only talking to the tutor when necessary. I avoided all eye contact and didn't acknowledge that he was even there. We hadn't missed out on too much but it was still too much for my liking. I shouldn't be behind and I definitely shouldn't be behind because of Rafe Cameron. Even if he did have an adoring smile behind that manipulative smirk.

I handed my papers into the tutor hoping it was all correct so I could leave the room and Rafe. Thankfully my wish was granted and I swiftly left the classroom but unfortunately Rafe was also finished. He shouted my names as I tried to block out his voice, but I couldn't take his yelling anymore.

"Rafe, what the hell" I groaned as he grabbed my wrist turning me around to face him.

"Can't you see" he asked his eyes looking at ourcurrent position.

"See what?" I asked and allowed him to hold my wrist as he talked to me.

"I'm chasing you, literally chasing you" he said breathlessly as my lips parted at his remark.

"Mm yeah, I know and it is annoying" I stated sharply back a taunting smile on my face. He huffed and frowned at my answer. I smiled satisfied and walked away as he allowed my wrist to slip from his grasp.

"There's No Way you'll spend the rest of today with me" he blurted out and made me stop dead in my tracks. I winced at the words, all I wanted was some peace but didn't look like that was going to happen today.

"Rafe, I'm already going to your party, what more do you want?" I asked exhausted by him as I turned to face him for the thousandth time today.

"I dared you, all rules obeyed. You can't challenge me" he said a devilish smirk on his smug face. I closed my eyes and huffed before letting out a groan.

"God, this game was supposed to be fun" I mumbled to myself and rubbed my temples.

"It will be. Trust me." Rafe said and started walking towards the school's exit. I furrowed my eyebrows at him when he flashed a grinning smile back at me, his blue eyes gleaming with amusement.

"We aren't gonna have fun here M&M's" he taunted as I hesitated to follow him.

"Are you sure? Principal Thornton's pep talks are pretty fun. We should know by now" I teased him falling back into our old routine. He smirked at me and rocked on his heels.

"You only got those pep talks because of me" he said as I rolled my eyes.

"Payback time Raferty. There's No Way you'll go into the ocean fully clothed" I said as we made our way out of the school. He groaned as his jaw clenched causing a breath to fall from my lips which I was unaware I was holding. Gosh, even in the midst of our taunting her still made my mind and concentration slip.

But at last some payback.
