"I can't..."

"Calum I'm so sorry, I really am. I was trying to do a good thing thing for you, trying to make you believe in your abilities and then-"

"I can't believe it!"

"Huh?"

"Ashton!"

"Calum, I am really really sorry."

"Why are you sorry? This is amazing! I'm sorry happy."

"What?"

"Second place. Can you believe that? Second place!"

"Yeah...but didn't you want first?"

"Well, firstly, I never even wanted anything because I didn't know what the hell you were doing-which I should be mad at but luckily I love you and I placed second! I never thought I would place in anything, let alone something this big. Second is still amazing, even if it's not first."

"Oh thank god you're so happy. I thought you would hate me."

"What the hell? Why?"

"Because I entered without your permission and then you didn't even win it."

"But I won something much more."

"What?"

"Confidence. Pride. I feel a lot better in my ability to write now."

"I'm glad. baby."

"Me too. Plus, that girl deserved first anyway. Her poem was like, eight pages long and really well written."

"Hmm, but I still think yours is better."

"You say that because you love me."

"I do. Now, could you read me the poems."

"You've already read them though."

"Yeah, but I want to hear them come from you. I want to feel the emotion that you put into them."

"O-okay, let me get them."

"Alright."

"Here's the, uh, first one.

Let me jump,
Maybe I'll learn how to fly.
And if I fall
Then at least I can say that I try.
The pain won't bother me.
It's nothing compared to what's inside.
This hollow heart, it still bleeds.
Searching desperately to fill its needs.
Wanting to give up. Wanting to give in.
Fighting an endless battle
That I can't win.

Let me climb,
And hopefully I won't slip.
But if I do then I'll say,
I had a good trip.
It hurts like knives in the back.
The words you say
In your verbal attack.
My apologies are worthless.
My mistakes are monumental.
You're making me feel
Absolutely mental.

Let me go,
Bid me farewell with a frown.
And though you call me stupid,
I don't feel like a clown.
"You need me," you say.
I tell you to have a good day.
Bitter looks exchanged.
Too bad things never changed.
Wish we could have make amends.
But we still couldn't have ever
Been friends."

"Oh my God! That was amazing! I...I'm just-wow. I'm speechless. That sounded so much better from your mouth than reading it."

"Really? Was it good?"

"It was amazing. Truly amazing."

"Thanks, Ashy."

"Read the next now! I am ready."

"Okay, dorkus."

"Shut up, meanie."

"Loser.

I've just had enough.
Looking for someone to love.
Coming up short.
Opening the wrong door.
But you've got a way
Of getting under my skin.
And I'm getting closer and closer
To letting you in.

I've got your initials on my arm.
Locked inside a little charm.
I've got your name in my head.
First and last thought before bed.
You're dazzling, like a star.
God I love who you are.

Your voice rings from ear to ear.
It's what I always want to hear.
Your eyes are bright and glimmering.
Your smile always shimmering.
I hold your hand and we'll never part.
You hold the keys to my heart."

"Whoa..."

"What?"

"Was that about me?"

"Maybe."

"God do I love you. Kiss me."
