Sophie's POV
"Well done Ms. Forbes! You did a job well done" napangiti ako sa sinabi ng head senior ng design team na si Ms. Den
Ngumiti ako "Thank you ma'am" and special thanks to Dontee. Napadali ang gawa ko dahil sa mga ideas na ibinigay at tulong nya
"So, it calls for a celebration" sabi ni Ms. Den at kinuha ang phone nya.
"Pardon ma'am. Celebration for?" tanong ko
"Celebration for your success" sabi nya na para bang napaka-obvious na bagay pero hindi ko pa alam. Yung ganun.
Umiling-iling ako "No need ma'am. Your compliments are enough. I don't want you to waste money because of me" nakakahiya din kasi
"But it was a success. Plus, it was a rush order but then you made it perfect. You deserve a celebration" nakangiti nitong sabi
Hindi naman big deal saken ang celebration. But when it comes to my boss, magda-dalawang isip talaga ako. I heard that when she offers a celebration party for her colleagues it will be a blast. Kahit pa sabihing biglaan man yan o rush. Kapag sya ang nagpa-party ay bongga talaga.
"I don't think its necessary ma'am. It's fine with me without any celebration" sa sinabi ko ay napasimangot sya
"You're turning me down?" hindi makapaniwala nyang sabi
Iwinasiwas ko ang kamay ko "No ma'am. That's not what I meant. I mean, we can just donate a party to some orphanage. I think the kids there will be very much happy"
"Is that so?" sabi nya "Well then. Its not a bad idea. But I will still give you a gift. I want you to accept it"
Natawa ako "What gift is it ma'am?"
"A vacation" simpeng sagot nito "I want you to relax"
"But ma'am. I don't need vacation. As a matter of fact I was ---" I was caught off guard
"Enough!" sabi ni Ms. Den na mukhang naiinis na "I want you to accept my gift. Whether you like it or not. I will book a flight for you. You're going back to your country. Cause, I'm not taking a no for an answer, for the second time" sabi nito
Wala sa sariling napanganga na lang ako. Baka mawalan ako ng trabaho kapag tumanggi ako. Hindi ko namalayan na napa-oo na pala ako dahil lumilipad ang utak ko. Ang daming 'what if's' sa utak ko.
"Okay ma'am. I'll take my vacation" mahina kong sabi
Napangiti naman sya saken "Good! Very well! So, I will make an arrangements first." sabi nito
"Ma'am?" sabi ko "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
Huminga ako ng malalim bago sumagot "For how long is my vacation?"
Ngumiti na naman sya saken. But this time, ibang klase ang ngiti nya "It depends. It's your choice if you're going to come back or not" napabuga na lang ako.
Nang-aasar ba ang tadhana? Bakit parang pakiramdam ko ay mapapauwi kami sa pilipinas ng wala sa oras. Gusto man namin o hindi.
Mitch's POV
I feel weird! Parang pakiramdam ko ay may matang nakatingin saken tuwing lalabas ako ng office ko o kaya sa bahay. As in. Tapos mag-isa pa ako ngayon sa office ko ngayon sa hospital. Creepy!
Knock Knock Knock
Muntik na akong malaglag sa kinauupuan ko ng may biglang kumatok. For sure, kung may sakit ako sa puso ay nangingisay na ako ngayon. Pshh.
