"Ms. Gilbert, surely you can enlighten us about one of the most significant historical events?"

I perk my head up when Mr.Tanner asks her this question. I know he knows she doesn't know. He loves tormenting us. He likes using every excuse to show us how stupid we are.

"I'm sorry. I-I don't know" Elena says.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons Elena." He continues to scold her. "But the personal excuses ended with summer break."

I scowl at him and respond to the question he asked Bonnie earlier. "There were 346 casualties, Mister Tanner. Of course unless you count the local civilians." I say crossing my arms and leaning back in my seat.

I wasn't stupid. Zach taught me history in his free time. He is a much better teacher than Tanner. "That's correct Miss Donovan. Except of course there were no civilian casualties." I'm about to argue back and say he was wrong but Stefan beats me to it.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of a great loss"

Looks like Zach must have taught him to. I smirk and look at Tanner who looks embarrassed.

"The Founders archives are, uh, stored in civil hall. If you'd like to brush up on your facts. Mr.Tanner"

Everyone around us laugh lightly, liking the fact that we bruised Tanners ego.

"Hmm"

The night of the party came and I was dressed in tight jeans and a tank top, with a jacket to cover me from the cold.

Everyone was having fun. Drinking, making out and doing other stuff. I'm with Elena and Bonnie near the fire, a cup in my hand.

"Just admit it Elena" I said grinning.

"Okay he's a little pretty. He has that romantic novel stare"

Bonnie giggled and in a deep voice said

"Stefan looked into her eyes, piercing her very soul!" I giggled and put a hand over my mouth to stop from snorting.

"So where is he?" I asked taking a looking around.

"I don't know" Elena responded and grips her cup.

"You tell me your the psychic one" Elena says in exaggeration to Bonnie.

"Right. I forgot. Ok, so give me a sec. Gram says I have to concentrate" I raised a hand saying pause.

"Wait, what you need is a crystal ball. Ah"

Elena nods in agreement and turned around, looking down at the floor Spotting a beer bottle. She picked it up and handed it to Bonnie.

"Ta da" Bonnie grabbed it, her fingers brushing Elena's and she gasped, pulling back.

"What?" I asked, confused for her sudden gasp.
