"I'm sorry, you're saying that Damon might have-'' I quickly glance up to see if Kelly was in the hall and whispered. "Killed Elena's birth mother?" I ask in shock.

"Alaric says that's what happened. Of course Damon doesn't want to clarify" "I can ask him if you want" I say as I dig out my car keys. I was already dressed, a green shirt with jeans and my locket. I just have to wait for Kelly to appear.

"Don't think he'll budge"

"Well, I can try. Besides he might"

"I don't think just because you had sex, means that he'll say his life story" I shrug and sit up. "Worth a shot. Alright well I'll see you at the grill. Okay. Bye" I say and end the call. Kelly walks out of the hallway and examines herself with her compact mirror.

"What do you think Ari'' She asks. I shrug. "I honestly don't care what you wear" She sighs at me and crosses her arms.

"Why are you so hostile towards me? We're family" I scoff.

"Then start acting like it" I snap as I get up and stalk past her.

"He's already been hit on, like, 35 times. He's total cougar bait" Caroline exclaims.

"Impressive" Me and Elena mutter to tease him. "More like embarrassing" Matt corrects, "Hi, Ms.Donovan" Caroline says, making me turn to see Kelly.

She waited like 5 minutes to get inside to make sure she was good. Kelly ignores Caroline and smiles at Elena.

"Elena, honey"

"Hi Kelly" Elena says with a giggle as she hugged her. The sight makes me sick to my stomach. "Long time not see" Kelly says as they part.

"How are you doing?" "Same old. Matt tells me you broke his heart" She says with a small pout. "Mom" Matt says embarrassed.

"Just kidding, calm down. He found his rebound girl" Kelly directs the last statement to Elena. What she says makes Caroline's face drop.

Oh Fuck nah.

"Oh, here you go sweetheart" Kelly says as she hands Caroline a couple of bills. "However many that'll buy. I just hope I don't get bachelor 3. I dated him in high school. Not impressive" She chuckles and then whispers

"In any way" I roll my eyes and Caroline hands her tickets. "Very exciting" She says before turning away. I give Caroline a small smile.

I go to find Damon and try to get him to tell me about Elena's birth mother. I find him at the bar and I pull him away from it and to a corner. "Damon, you look bad" I say as I eye him up. "What can I say" I reach up to his collar and straighten in.

"So Damon, I was wondering. Do you know anyone from North Carolina, tall, dark haired, a woman named Isabel" I ask. He frowns

"Why?"

"No reason, just curious" I say with a shake of my head. He smirks and grabs my hand giving it a light kiss on the top. "Well then goodbye" I groan in annoyance when he leaves.

"Number 4. Alaric saltzman, wow that's quite a mouthful" Carol says with a small laugh. I sit with Elena and Jenna who blushes madly. "What do you do Alaric?" Carol asks him and holds the mic up,

"I'm a teacher at mystic falls high" He replies. "Oh beauty and brains, ladies, this ones a keeper. What do you teach?"

"History"

"History, oh, well give us a fun fact about mystic falls something crazy" Carol asks of him. Alaric turns to look at Damon, who leans to the side to hear what he has to say. Alaric stammers over his words

"He's probably saving the best stories for his date" Carol says saving him. "And last but not least, Damon Salvatore, we don't have much on you" Carol says as she moves on to Damon.

"Well I'm tough to fit on a card" He replies. I catch Elena wave at Stefan who waves back from the crowd. He meets my gaze and I shake my head softly, a clear no. "Do you have any hobbies, like to travel?" Carol asks.

"Oh, yeah. L.A., New York, couple of years ago I was in North Carolina, near the duke campus actually, I think- I think Alaric went to school there, didn't you Rick?" Damon asks Alaric. I perk my head up and listen.

"Yeah, cause I- I know your wife did. I had a treat with her once. She was a great girl, did I ever tell you that?" Alaric continues to stare at Damon with anger. "Cause she was delicious. Mm, mmm, mmm" Damon tells him.

I look at Elena whose eyes are full of emotion. "Are you okay?" Jenna asks her. "I just need some air" She replies and rushes off. I look at Jenna and nod, "I'll go after her" I say, getting my sweater and going after her along with Stefan.

"Elena!" I call out, she turns to us. "He killed her? Damon was the vampire that killed her?" She yells. "I don't know what happened, Alaric said that they never found the body" Me and Stefan explain.

"Oh my god, you both knew" She says, her voice shaking, "I know, I'm sorry I wanted to tell you, but I just wanted to know more" Stefan explains.

"I was feeling sorry for him, hoping that this whole Katherine thing would change him, I'm so stupid" She says. "He didn't know about the connection to you, I thought about confronting him but he's already so on edge"

"Why are you protecting him!" Elena yells at Stefan.

"Because you're not the only one hoping that he might change'' Stefan confesses. To this Elena says nothing, eyes trialing past Stefan and they lock in place. "That man." We frown and turn around to see a stranger looking at us.

"I saw that man outside of trudges'' Elena explains. I narrow my eyes at him and grab Elena's hand. "Come on" I say and drag her back inside. While going inside I bump into someone and Elena narrows her eyes when she sees him.

"Whoa, whoa easy there. You're gonna have to buy a ticket like everyone else" Damon teases.

"Did you enjoy that? Rubbing it in to Alaric saltzman?" Elena asks besides me. I move away to give her space "What?" Damon asks confused.

"just as I was starting to think that there was something redeemable about you" Elena sneers. "Elena'' Stefan calls from behind and shakes his head. "Am I missing something here?" Damon asks.

"Did I forget to mention earlier when we were talking about my birth mother, the one that gave me up?"

"Mm-hmm"

"Her name was Isobel'' Damon frowns in realization. "Go ahead, reminisce about how you killed her" Elena says and steps away, Stefan goes after her and I stay behind with Damon.

"You really messed up now"
