Chapter 29: Crystals

I can feel myself floating, and I don't even know why. Am I flying?

When I opened my eyes, I saw darkness.

Isn't better not opening it? Pareho lang naman pala ang makikita ko, endless darkness. The dark is frightening, and the silence is cold. I tried to move but I can't. It looks like I'm stuck.

What is this place? Who am I? My mind is blank.

I just closed my eyes again.

I felt like I slept and floated in a year..

when I opened my eyes I saw a light. I am happy. It looks so good. But it's too far from me.

I tried reaching it and was so excited because , I am floating to the direction of the light. It's near! It's blinding!

When I reach the light and touch it, I felt the surrounding change. And a terrible headache and nausea hit me. It's terrible , I am going to die. It's like something is being poured inside my brain.

When the pain subsided, i felt not so stupid anymore. And when I opened my eyes. What greeted me is a place I don't recognize. There's a lot of destroyed buildings like it was bombed. There are cars and vehicles scattered around that I don't recognize. From the top view, I can describe it as a warzone. There no people, no living beings.

Wait, wait, I am still floating.

I tried swimming down, like a diver..

I look so stupid.

Next thing I knew, I was falling down!

'Thud'

That's me hitting the ground. Surprisingly, I'm still alive without broken bones or something.

Beside me is a vehicle. It looks like a motorcycle but looks sturdier and heavier. Anong brand kaya Ito? I tried using it, pero mukhang Hindi gagana. There's not even a keyhole!

I left and started roaming around again.

Is this earth?

I can see English written all around the place. So this is Earth. But what happened?

I imagine myself floating again , and it worked..

I started flying again , I flew over ocean and saw islands to islands, land to land.

" b-bakit? Ano to? There's no people! No, there's no living beings! "

Why did I not notice it from the beginning? The whole place are destroyed and cold . the trees and plants are withered. The ocean is dark and the sky looked gloomy even though there is sun!

What about the air?? There is air but I can't breathe it in.. Am I breathing?

I'm starting to panic..

Where are my family? My friends?

I felt going crazy, and started shouting their names. Hoping they can hear me.

Mom, Dad

Lyka??

Just like a switch that was turned on, I remembered those people. Their face, smiles and laughter's. This can't be happening right? Where did I go? Where did they go? Did they die?

I'm sure this is the same earth but different.

Where's our base? Where's the core??

I landed at the top of the mountain. This is where I built the school but it looks unfamiliar now. When I entered the building I felt my chest tightened. Because I remember my schoolmates here, doing their own tasks, sometimes smiling, laughing , irritated or annoyed. But I can only feel the shadows. Just a memory
